markleslie German 933-1049 AD with Polish 966-157 AD defeats Triarii French (888-1049) with Viking 900-1049 AD 49-13.

Division A
Kroche (Pyrrhic 280-275BC w Samnite allies)
defeated
klayeckles (Indo greek with kushan allies)
61-41
Pyrrhic cavalry and light horse took some time to chase away the Indian cavalry on the far left. Centre line of opposing pikes and spear units were engaged in melee. Indo Greek moved elephants and cataphracts to hit the Pyrrhic right.
The attack of elephants and cataphracts had started to break through the line, but Pyrrhic forces had held out long enough for their left flank, having chased off the Indian cav, help in the final defeat of the Indo-Greek centre and the force of swordsmen and bowmen occupying rough ground at the end of their line. Questar17 Latin Greece 1205-1311 AD feat Cuman beats
Kroche Sword Brethren 1204-1237AD w Baltic Tribes 49:7
My army composed by knights and horse archers were effective vs Baltic tribes and pikes. Meanwhile opponents knights and cavs spent much time chasing my troops. The final score should be with less difference, but 3 units attacking my massive bowmen faced too bad dice rolls. Thx for the game and great tournament to organisers

Division A
Kroche (Berber (Wattanid) 1466-1500AD)
defeated
Questar17 (Cypriot 1475-1489 AD)
65-36
The battlefield field was narrowed by a river, which ultimately helped Berbers more I think.
Berber spears and the industry standard 3 camel lancers faced off against a mixed force of heavy weapon, spears, mounted knights and quite a lot of bowmen. Early part if the battle went in Cypriot's favour as they were able to hurt the Berbers through their arrows and bolts. There was hill on the left which Berbers occupied, it was under fire from Cypriot bow and their mounted knights were initially successful in their charges. Situation on the hill was stabilised and Berbers were able to threaten the Cypriot centre which had advanced beyond the hill.
The centre was melee between spearmen and the effective halberdiers and billmen. The fight in the centre went one way and then the other - the narrowed battlefield reduced the chance of Cypriot units getting a flank attack in. Cypriots had a lot of vulnerable units and Berber camels and light horse were able to inflict some damage on those raw crossbow and archers once the Cypriot heavy foot was engaged in melee elsewhere. GG

carpenkm Arab Conquest 638 beat Triarii French (888-1049) with Viking
66-45
A fair amount of luck with French cavalry missing flanks while pursuing and a slinger unit fragmenting a shieldwall on a difficult slope. Well played - you will get your revenge I'm sure!

Division A
Kroche Pyrrhic 280-275BC w Samnite allies
defeated
Aetius39 Carthaginian 216-203 (Hannibal in Italy)
62-42
Pyrrhic centre had some water to its left and rough to its right. Both forces moved medium foot to contest the rough, Pyrrhic had more numbers in this area, helped by units emerging from hiding in some woods. A force was sent to screen the Pyrrhic left by the water and Carthaginians sent troops to contest that area. The screening force forgot their purpose and attacked the Carthaginans only to be soundly carved up and Carthaginans had a big lead in points. However the water prevented the Carthaginian troops from reaching the melee in the centre and rough in time to stop the Pyrrhic victory. GG

Division D
Ironclad (Sarmatian 350 BC - 24 AD) defeated TheBug67 (Roman 105 - 25 BC) 42 -16
Good game. Facing an Roman army with an elephant unit and strong infantry the Sarmatians opted for a tactical withdrawal whilst their lights engaged the foe. The fire unleashed weakened the elephant and the lancers eventually routed it. Thereafter the Sarmatians initiated a wide circling movement with the main force to avoid the formidable advance of the massed legions and with their greater mobility and other breakthroughs were able to isolate and destroy sufficient Roman units.

Division A
Stew101 (Achaemenid Persians, with Greek allies)
defeated
klayeckles (Indo greek with Kushan allies)
Score 68 - 59.
What a game, hardly a unit in either army not completely spent.
A battlefield with plenty of rough ground led to both sides defending on their left flanks and attacking on their rights.
The Persian left held on, defending in successively smaller lines, whilst the Indians were slowly turned off their hill.
I could not watch the end of my last turn, letting the AI control it, as I was on 59% and 5% behind, with a fragged LI in combat against fragged medium opponents (who were also outflanked by a 2nd Persian MI unit).
Well a miracle happened the LI survived two turns of combat, whilst in the Indian turn 4 Indian units auto-broke. Not often you have to auto-break pike blocks to win a game.
Great game, thanks Klay.
