Third-party multiplayer challenge creation, for tournament GMS

Post by Nijis »

Is there any way to allow tournament GMs to create a challenge for two other players on the server, monitor results, and check how frequently the players do turns?

This would let a human do manually what Slitherine's automatic tournament creation software does.

This might make it easier for GMs to run big tournaments without worrying about having to issue frequent reminder deadlines or adjudicating instances where players time out.

As you say, this is how the automated tournament system works, but it would be a major undertaking to make it work for third party umpires.

I just posted a similar suggestion. I don't think 3rd party umpires are required but some basic metrics on speed of play and winning stats would be a welcome level of transparency when using the multiplayer facility for non tournament games.
