Folorn Hope Tournament server message help please

Hi I was a bit slow on some turns (my bad) one of the games did not finish. I'd expected it to be over but got the "you were slow and received a penalty, your opponent got a bonus" server message.

I lchecked completed games reran my opponents last turn which ended with a 62 / 50 win in my favour, but not the end of battle screens.

The final scores on the website are

two questions

1) can you explain the penalty / bonus in the game i timed out (the maths rather than the reasoning)
2) For my future knowledge - Had i logged in before the close out this morning and viewed my opponents turn, am I right that I would not have gotten a turn anyway and the game would have ended 62/50? If so what would the scores have been. As I'm feeling very slightly aggrieved that the game did in fact reach the conclusion criteria but I think I just missed out on a single mouseclick? rather than an actual turn.
