Does Engineer Health affect mine removal?

Post by Applepie68 »

I always thought that the amount of health an Engineer unit had affected how much health was removed. I might be remembering wrong cause I seem to recall wounded enemy engineer units fully removing a minefield in one move in some of the British scenarios. That or do Italian engineers have some sort of ability that lets them do that. Also would anyone mind filling me in on how mines that belong to a faction work? I know they stop flanking and enemies can pass through them (found that out the hard way). Is there anything else I should know to avoid an unpleasant surprise?

They also make the enemy units appear when they move next to them. Neutral mines don't. So mines assigned to a faction are sort of like pickets as well as mines.

As far as I know yes, understrength Engineer units remove less mines than full-strength ones.

That is correct: an engineer unit that is down to half strength will only remove around half of the mines in its turn

Hmm that is odd then. I’ll go replay a few scenarios and see if I can get the same thing to happen. Maybe I was just mistaken then.
