Thanks, Alan. Please note that this is then a Sea Raid, so you're not allowed to bring any cavalry of any sort, only infantry.

Round III (264 - 266 AD): declared attacks
Border-line bullying of Geffalrus. Sorry about that. But then again, he's currently the most powerful of the Roman factions (in terms of provinces and available allies, at least).

Re: An Empire in Flames - Campaign II: Ongoing
Lol, I probably do deserve it after my vacation from raid attacks last turn.
As for the rules, I did agree to them, tho I might have also.......deleted the message with them during a perhaps too aggressive purge of inbox messages (happens whenever I get close to 100% full).
Fortunately, it does seem like you updated the first page rules with the new stakes and guidelines. Am I remembering correctly that the conquest battles are now Agricultural for all provinces now? And when should I be indicating any allies I'm taking to battle? During attack declaration phase that just passed, or before matches are created?

Please note
- The attacker (first player above) advises to the defender (second player above) whether to use allies (and then which allies).
- The defender creates the challenge in the FoG2 Multiplayer Lobby, always with himself as Side B (in order for the other player to immediately be able to deploy and make first round when accepting the challenge).
- Doyley50: your Goths in battle 4b can include only infantry, since this is a Sea Raid.
- In order to create a challenge with An Empire in Flames armies, after having launched New Challenge and Create Skirmish, press Select Another Module and therein An Empire in Flames v3, which will make the An Empire in Flames armies available.
- All battles (whether Conquests or Raids) take the form of:
- Custom Battle
- 24 turns
- Remove the Head scenario
- Large (1600 FP) force size (adjusted for Roman factions by their players' current FP Penalties (zero for all currently) in Conquest battles, as specified above in the respective battles)
- Wide (40x32) map size
- Map type is now specified in the rules (and on the map) for each province.
- No map re-rolls will be made.
- The faction routing the enemy or killing the enemy's C-in-C is considered the victor. If neither faction routs the enemy or kills the enemy's C-in-C, it is considered a draw.
- Battle outcome, once resolved, is posted by the winner, or the player having inflicted the most casualties, in a post in the campaign thread.
- Please conclude the battles within a five-week period, i.e., no later than March 11.
- In this third round one additional province (i.e., two provinces in total) will be taken control of by the victor (if any) in a Conquest battle.
- This will be in addition to any further additional provinces for the victor if killing his enemy C-in-C in the Conquest battle.

I will be using Iazyges allies in my attack on Aetius in Asia.
Can I also use allies for my raid defenses? If so, I would like to use the Iazyges again. But it's fine if I can't.

Re: An Empire in Flames - Campaign II: Ongoing
Yes, you can do that. (Also Goths, if you like.) You’ll have that option as Roman faction for your Conquest and Raid attacks for as long as you win when defending in Raids against them. One win is enough against a Non-Roman faction.

Setting up battles
- The attacker (first player above) advises to the defender (second player above) whether to use allies (and then which allies).
- The defender then creates the challenge in FoG2.
- Conquest
- If a draw, both such drawing Roman factions will lose one province each to the neighbouring Roman faction (other than one of them) having inflicted the highest casualties in a battle this round, and increase their respective total number of times their C-in-C's have fallen in battle by 1.
- The victor (if any) of the battle takes control over the loser's province-at-stake, plus any additional provinces.
- Raid
- If a draw, an already looted province will become ''Lost to The Empire'' and otherwise will just become 'looted' by the non-Roman faction.
- If the non-Roman faction is the victor, the raided province (whether already 'looted' or not) will become 'looted' by that non-Roman faction and also considered "Lost to the Empire" for the remainder of the campaign.
- Controlling a province that becomes looted and/or 'Lost to The Empire' will result in permanent FP Penalties (25 or 50 FP) in its future Conquest battles (no such effect on Raid battles).

Re: An Empire in Flames - Campaign II: Ongoing
The Roman Tribune - 4th Edition
Barbarians on the march.
Reports from the east say that the barbarian Goths have laid waste to a whole province. In a daring raid from the sea, they took advantage of the weakness of the Eastern usurper Kronenius and swept all before them.
This should be contrasted with the successful defence mounted by the true Emperor Stewarius, against an invading horde of fierce Franks. The Franks were repelled with nothing to show for their invasion, but a few captives from a border academia. It is to be hoped our wise men can teach these barbarians the folly of their ways.
The Franks would no doubt have perished to a man, had the Emperor Stewarius been able to bring his full force to bear. This was not possible as the Emperor was seeing off another Italian usurper Bunnius in two climatic battles. This rogue sort to load the dice in his favour by stripping the garrison of Rome and then throwing the Praetorians into open battle.
This publication condemns this action in the most vigorous terms. How dare he leave the cradle of civilisation undefended, whilst barbarian hordes are on the loose.
It is therefore with some relief that we are able to report that Bunnicus has lost his head. AGAIN !!. We are therefore disappointed that we will not be able to report on his antics any longer.
The vacuum in power in Rome has reportedly been filled by a new usurper, a Senator Doylius. Little is known of this usurpers abilities, but it is to be hoped he meets the fate of his predecessors, for the good of the Empire.

Dacia is saved!
Marauding Goths covered in leaves and camouflage snuck across the border and set up shop in a large forest, no doubt planning to use it as a base for their vile plundering expeditions. Fortunately, the True-est Emperor, Geffalrius, responded quickly, dispatching a large force of auxiliaries and Iazyges cavalry to confront the interlopers. The swift Roman response allowed them to fall upon the warbands before the numerous Gothic cavalry could envelope them. The Iazyges chief and the captain of the auxiliaries gave their lives during the fierce fighting, and the emperor has promised to give them full honors. The remaining Goths were herded together into a "forced communal living camp" where they could leave once they had fulfilled their required military service hours.
