Why a Forum?

Dangerous, grueling, fierce. Chariot Racing was by far the most favored sport of ancient times. Ancient Arenas takes you back to an age where charioteers were the richest sports stars and team owners were their ruthless and fearless managers.

Why a Forum?

Post by 76mm »

Question for Slitherine: why do you bother putting up a forum for this game if there is no intent by you or the developer to, you know, respond in any way to posts here? Many developers/publishers utilize their forums to get people excited abou the game, post new info and screenshots, interact with potential players etc...here it's just crickets.

Ho-hum, I'm done checking back here, I guess someday I'll hear about the game coming out and maybe I'll come back and check it out then.

The game is still in development at we do not have anything extra to share, beyond what has been in the news forum and what we showed at SlitherineNEXT.

Yeah, totally understandable, but maybe wait to put up a forum until you have something to say? Otherwise, not much point in a public forum, keep it a closed beta?

Heck I'm GLAD they have this forum. The Matrix site sent me here. I've posted there about Quadriga with questions and suggestions for AA:C. Here's one now....
Ever suppose that back then, the fans may have engaged in..."Roll Calls", created "WAVES" in the stands, or had "tail gate" style feasts pre and post races? I think it quite possible and even probable that they DID!
I do hope the devs will include the variability in number of teams, number of laps and other elements that add interest to the game as well as being plausibly historical.

P.S. wouldn't it be cool if they had a 3-D "WAVE" going on in the 'Circus' during a big race?

Sure, it would be great to have this forum if the dev engaged with it, or we even had any evidence that he was looking at it. But so far...crickets...it seems to be a conversation amongst ourselves, so rather pointless.

They probably do it to generate player excitement for the upcoming game. Looks like they opened this forum after the official announcement on the Slitherine Next stream.

But as you said it may be too early to open a general forum, although it suggests that Beta testing is not far off. I guess the question then is whether there is merit to having an open forum and a closed beta tester forum.....

I've added this game on my wish list over 8 months ago. It seems the announcement was a bit premature. :|
