Ironclad (Sarmatian 350 BC - 24 AD) defeated mh5064 (Macedonian 260-148 BC) 40-12

With an impassible river on the right and faced by a Macedonian army of mainly pikes in double ranks the Sarmatians were forced to move left. Although the Macedonians advance caught some of the enemy cavalry the bulk of those horse troops managed to sweep around and concentrate against the now stretched out right flank of the Macedonians. A number of the threatened pike formatians formed squares but the Sarmatian cavalry attacking from several sides eventually achieved victory.

The Tuareg deployment zone was entirely covered in difficult hills and right after starting the game I thought that I should have called for a re-roll. My right was swarmed by Danish light foot backed up by Baltic foot so I sacrificed some foot to slow them down while my camels ran away. But Paul left a gap between his centre and right which I pried wide breaking his Danish spearmen in the open on the right and sweeping the hill anchoring his centre before he could take advantage of my non-existent right flank. Thank you.

My shieldwall held against an onslaught of almughavars in a vicious melee along a stream. Under the pressure of ruthless flank attacks by the Catalan cavalry, the German spearmen held their ground until they could break and rout the enemy center. Good game, general!

The battle began with offset deployment positions. The superior maneuverability of the Roman cohorts allowed for faster battleline adjustments than the unmaneuverable warbands. When the clash of arms occurred, the Germanic tribes suffered unlucky outcomes time and again in their infantry melees while Germanic Noble Cavalry just couldn't stand up to Palmyran cataphracts. Plain bad luck cascaded against hapless Foot Tribes. A win favored by good fortune against a fine spirited opponent.

Jtrillodmp (Lithuanians and Tatars) defeated Indibil (Aragonese) by a score of 63-47.

The combination of Lithuanian infantry fortified positions supported by cavalry units was hard to beat for Aragonese. They tried bravely with knights on sides and infantry on centre were the almogavars caused heavy losses in their assault. But their crossbowmen were vulnerable to cavalry and they suffered too much. In the end, the resistance of Lithuanians and their very mobile units forced victory.
