Allies Victorious/Bulge missing event text
In O of B Allies Victorious, in the "Battle of the Bugle" scenario, there's a Dialog Box that pops up during the 6th & 7th turns: instead of the usual, "Add reinforcements, etc.", it says: " EVENT_TRIGGER_93_190_title".

Re: O of B Allies Victorious: Strange Dialog Box
Thanks for reporting. These popups are supposed to notify about additional Air CP for US and UK.
Here's a corrected file that adds the missing text in case people do not want to wait for a full patch. Here's how to use it:
1. Navigate to the Bulge scenario folder in your installation
Which is: ..\Order of Battle - WW2_Data\Content\Campaigns\17Allied_3\Scenarios\10_Bulge
4. Replace the file text_english.txt in this folder with the new one attached below here (need to unzip before, of course).
Please note this only adds the text, does not fix possibly lacking event pics, and only works when playing in english. We'll add localized variants later. Sorry for the hassle.

Re: O of B Allies Victorious: Strange Dialog Box
I noticed that you still have a missing dialog; the one where the scenario asks if the player wants to end early after other objectives have been accomplished, including "Hold or retake Bastogne," but "Never lose Bastogne" has been failed:

Re: O of B Allies Victorious: Strange Dialog Box
You will be happy to know, though, that the above is the only remaining missing dialog in the entire campaign! That is, if the method of searching for "= dialog_trigger" (the "= " is important to include) yielding only this one instance is a sound measure.

Here is what I put into my version until you have issued the official correction.
If you want to just use it yourself to save time, here is the file. It contains your earlier correction and my update.

[Allies Victorious] Battle of the Bulge - Events
Air Reinforcements 5
Turn 6 => +12 US Air CP (5 land US CP = losses)
The text is missing and the image does not correspond to an aerial reinforcement.

Re: Allies Victorious/Bulge missing event text
I merged your thread with this earlier one, in which you yourself participated. Why would you be bringing this up again as if it were new?
The person in charge at that time, so to speak, acknowledged it. Now, if this hasn't been fixed in the latest 9.2.5 official patch, I cannot account for that other than by the usual speculation of which I am tired of talking.
To fix your problem and another one that I found and was also acknowledged, download my version of the text file in question and install it over the official file.

Re: Allies Victorious/Bulge missing event text
If they can't even manage to put this minor fix into the October and November patch, it's maybe not a wrong idea to remind someone still more or less alive in the dev-department every day.
Thanks for the merge with a download link of the personal fix, so everything is in one topic!
If others fail, you have to take matters into your own hands and fix things yourself.
Luckily, it's still not hard to fix something in the game, as long as they don't raise from their graves and stop someone like me from messing in their code instead of fixing their own crap.

Re: Allies Victorious/Bulge missing event text
It's funny that you say this because it dovetails with my own thinking. For a long time, I have anticipated game abandonment — once again, there really isn't anybody paying attention right now; The Artistocrats is a part-time, ephemeral concept.Horst wrote: ↑Mon Jan 09, 2023 12:13 pm If others fail, you have to take matters into your own hands and fix things yourself.

Oh, one or two officials will periodically make an appearance and pretend that matters are in hand, but it's haphazard; ad-hoc. It's always a wild guess as to when they will show up again or whether it is indeed over.
So, what I have been thinking is at some point to make my own private mod with all sorts of final tweaks, corrections and improvements. I had already started doing so, with various adjustments to mostly the language files. Units.csv was to be my next project. Your work in various aspects will be a great improvement in that regard.
But what happens if The Artistocrats suddenly becomes a going concern again? It is already a minor hassle to recreate those tweaks of mine every time they update OOB.
The answer is to treat my version of OOB, if and when I declare it, as a separate game. My version and future OOB, if any, will exist side-by-side.
Now seems like a good time to "pull the plug" on this version of OOB, and to make it mine.

Re: Allies Victorious/Bulge missing event text
Do you not think that the images are not appropriate for Air Reinforcements ?
event_trigger_92_188_title = AIR SUPPORT!
event_trigger_92_188_text = The USAAF is ready to deploy more air squadrons. +12 Air CP
event_trigger_93_190_title = AIR SUPPORT!

Re: Allies Victorious/Bulge missing event text
That's fine, and so is the reminder as Horst says. But it's been addressed and acknowledged, as you see here, and why it hasn't been officially addressed in recent patches is probably explained in my post above. Increasingly, I am thinking that Horst has the right idea: "If others fail, you have to take matters into your own hands and fix things yourself." So I would advise you to use the file that I posted earlier in this thread. Or, make your own edit to your satisfaction.terminator wrote: ↑Mon Jan 09, 2023 4:27 pm Do you not think that the images are not appropriate for Air Reinforcements ?

Re: Allies Victorious/Bulge missing event text
Oh, I get your drift; the images are a problem to you, too. Well, those are also easily remedied, as you know. I am sorry that I am only a forum moderator; this kind of stuff is so easy to fix, as Horst says, but much of it doesn't get attention. Meanwhile, we wait and see from month to month to month whether anybody will ever come around in an official capacity. Well, as I have been saying here, I am in favor now of cutting OOB off and making it my own game. Then those guys can do what they want, if they want, when they want, and I'm not sitting around waiting for them.

Re: Allies Victorious/Bulge missing event text
Better a reused wrong picture than an ugly empty msg box.
I haven't played the last DLC yet, so can't make any useful suggestion.
I don't mind anymore if this is becoming a self-helping and self-fixing project here.
I personally got plenty own campaign fixes & tweaks too that are difficult to publish without messing up an original installation again. I don't want to offer complete modified original campaigns for free either. That would certainly bring up official attention.

Here is the situation. The designer chose to use the same picture for both land and air reinforcement event messages:

Re: Allies Victorious/Bulge missing event text
So I found not one, but two authentic photos of aerial action during the Battle of the Bulge and resized/cropped them to game specifications:
I named them distinctly and included the file names in the two Air Support messages:
Notice, by the way, that the message text is already in place; that's because I am using the text file that I posted above.

Re: Allies Victorious/Bulge missing event text
Then I said, "What the heck" and obtained three more pics of U.S. land troops on the move during the Battle of the Bulge and edited them for the correct format and size. Why keep repeating the same picture for each time there are land reinforcements? So now the photo sequence is as follows:
All of the land reinforcement triggers have been updated with these file names now.

Re: Allies Victorious/Bulge missing event text
Here is how the scenario folder looks now, with the new reinforcement photos array. As said previously, the text file was already updated, but was re-dated when I saved the scenario file. (English only; I am sorry about the other languages.)
If you want to avail yourselves of this revised scenario, which includes all the fixes and enhancements to the Bulge scenario discussed in this thread, you can download it from here:

This scenario folder would be copied over the official version to be found here:
