I was a big Panzer General fan back in the 90's; super excited to discover this game recently!
Not sure if this forum is still active given the age of this game.... I just completed the six tutorial battles, during which the game mentioned (prior to the second tutorial battle):
"You have also been granted additional core unit slots that you may fill with units of your choosing. Your core units will stay with your command from scenario to scenario and throughout your campaign."
which led me to think that the game actually let us carry over the tutorial army to the main campaign, with the tutorial training battles happening in early 1939. However, once I finished all six battles, the game kicked me back to the main menu. No continuation. If I start a new campaign, it would start with the default units instead of my tutorial army.
A quick google search seems to suggest that people were indeed able to carry over tutorial units to the main campaign (in PzC1 but not 2):

Am I missing something? Or did I just completely misunderstand how it works?

Re: New player question
Happy to help a new player. This is my favorite game ever, and I have an entire youtube channel pretty much dedicated to playing this great game.
You cannot carry the army you build in the Tutorial over to the Vanilla or The Grand Campaign. Many wish they could, but is not how the game is set up since all campaigns start you out with a preset starting army.
PC2 may be different, I am not sure.
Welcome aboard and Merry Christmas!!!

Re: New player question
Welcome to Panzer Corps. There is a massive amount of official content (if you have the Gold Edition), and many excellent mods from the amazing folk who keep the game alive. If you need answers, try searching the Panzer Corps forum, there's loads of useful information in there. The Scenario Design forum is where you'll find mods. There are still players who check in on the forums, so don't hesitate to ask if you have any questions you can't find answers to, we're a helpful bunch.
Re: New player question
This game will keep you busy for years to come..
I started with the normal "vanilla" campaign but switched to the grand campaign after a few scenarios to get a change from the PG type battles.
Since then I also sampled the Dlc's sealion, us corps, allied corps and Afrika korps. But I keep returning to the grand campaign.
Learn how to build your army, how to deploy them and which tactics are suited for you and the circumstances.
Learn from others in this forum or on YouTube.
The game was released in 2011 and the forum goes back to that year so there really is a lot of information in here.
I played PG on and off for almost 20 years (best mod To the East from Dean Skalerud) so this game should see me well into my pensionable years...

Re: New player question
yes! I'm really looking forward to spending time on this game. The GC sounds like a lot of fun.
Back in the Panzer General days, I remember curb-stomping everything in the late game using nothing except 15-strength airpower and Panther G's (I was a kid back then and didn't know to look for mods with better balance). From what I heard so far, Panzer Corps is more tactically challenging, which is exactly what I was looking for!
