Excellent remake

Post by npilgaard »

I played the original game a lot, and I really like how this remake is true to the original - not only mechanics-wise, but also the overall feel of the game. I like the tweaks (units being a bit faster is nice) and not least the art - it is great, especially the realistic/naturalistic feel of it.

(It can be a bit of a wait for the enemy turn to finish, though - but, well, I am running the game of a rather old computer, and that probably doesn't exactly help :) )

Excellent work! Thanks!

Regards

Agree with all of the above. Probably some more convenience functions would be nice to click less, but sill thinking on that so no idea here.
Small map on a modern computer (ryzen 3700, 32 GB ram, nvidia rtx 2060) works quite fast as well.

Agreed, this remake is excellent & looking forward to what the future holds for this.
Per AI turn speeds; a good friend of mine & I have found that playing on 'Very Small' maps vs 4 other Wizards is the way to go.
First...those maps are, surprisingly, large & the turns are fairly quick.
I will add, one of my gaming laptops is a 10 year old 'win 7' & the game runs just fine...a little slow on the load & exiting, however :)

Agreed guys. Have played a lot in my first week. Large was 'too large'. Small the way to go, especially as I'm older and would like to actually get through several more complete plays in this lifetime, ha. There are some improvements to be made, but in general, I've enjoyed playing.
