My opponent clearly did something to upset the dice gods especially playing the unlucky Khazars where a couple of charging lancers seemed to catch every evading horse archer. Could do with this luck in all my games. Well played Karvon, i'm sure you will get your revenge!

Karvon's Arabs defeated angusosborne's Khazars 61-49 for a score of 71-49.

On a vast steppe sprinkled with occasional patches of rough or marsh, a line of Arab foot, supported by a reserve of lancers, absorbed the initial Khazar barrage and attempted to scatter their horse. This had rather mixed results. On our left, with support from some lancers, the Khazars were mostly seen off, though it took a while to do. On our right, our less supported foot faced the concentration of the Khazar attack and got badly mauled, mostly flanked and chased off into the sunset, though that the benefit of removing a fair number of Khazars from the closing moments in the center. Here, we managed to hold off and then flank the enemy with some of survivors from our victorious left.

Div B. 1st - Dreddradish, 2nd - XLegione. Just two games left.

Div C. carpenkm has risen to top with some good results this week. Two games left, Angusosbourne could just catch him.

Div D. Aetius has risen to 1st and needs to hold off Oscarius in the last two games to hold his position.

Div E. Triarii has top spot, lunecastle and anderarcos scrapping it out for 2nd. 8 games left.

Div F. Will be 1st - wzfcns, 2nd SawyerK, 3rd - Rob123 in the absence of any results from heidipie.

Div G. Just 2 games left, Bodhran just needs a few points to take it above Bagatrix.

Div H. 1st - Garokan, 2nd - Hari, 3rd - IMC. Complete.

SpeedyCM (Umbrian) defeats Angusborne (Samnite) 41-15.
Angusborne (Umbrian) defeats SpeedyCM (Samnite) 60-53.

In the first battle some unlucky pursuits of Umbrian light troops exposed the flanks of several Samnite units and with the numbers advantage in the Umbrian favour the Samnites were unable to recover.
The second battle was a hard fought slugging match where again the numbers advantage to the Umbrians was able to push them over the line in the end.

An open map and the Skythian mobility was too much of a problem for the Romans. Similar in the mirror game too.

Morat (Visigoths) vs deeter (Lombards) - draw: either 22 - 23 or 29-28

Bad light stopped play (aka we ran out of time) in the middle of an enthralling scrap.

The last move posted before midnight (GMT) would have deeter on 23 points and me (Morat) on 22. deeter put in a move about 0200 UK time which moved the scores to 28 to deeter and 29 to me. Suspect given the league positions of both of us, it does not really matter which one you use!

Thanks for organising this excellent tournament. I've been handed a series of salutary lessons by some of the best players in the game. It's been fun though!
