David vs Goliath feat. Uphill Battle
While waiting for AO 1945 I thought about a new playthrough...
I already started a campaign in SCW with David vs Goliath and it was very hard! Tbh I cheated a little bit with "killer team", I started again and again until I got 3 very usefull heroes.
Did anyone try so far to combine david vs goliath and uphill battle? I think thats impossible, especially in SCW when you core force is very weak.
And does anyone know if uphill battle has an effect on units that spawn later? Lets say some tanks spawn in turn 10, do they have the standard stats or are they already stronger?

sadly david vs goliath and/or uphill battle break most scenarios with an allied AI, since ur ally will not get the bonus and be oblitereated, especially on generallisimus since the additional accuracy only aplies to enemy AIs as well.
At least the last time i bothered checking it. Is this still the case or was it changed? didn't see anything in the notes about it.

That is true and of course it would be nice if your allies also get the bonus.
Thats why I am asking, I think it will be impossible. I might try out the first 3 scenarios. The 3. was always one of the hardest!

I was able to finish 1 playthrough with DvG and UB (out of 10+ attempts ) in SCW. Its simply no real fun. The only chance to save AI forces without any mods is let them hold position until you formed a well protected frontline, let them attack for some turns, hold position, new frontline and so on.
If you let them attack by default they simply gets vaporized fast (which saves you prestige on the other hand)
And i was never able to get all bonus objectives with that challnges on
My actual approach for the AO series to find a nice difficulty is:
SCW with DvG
AO39 Dvg + some awful negative trait
AO40 DvG + awful trait + UB or HS
AO41 DvG + awful trait + UB or HS (no changes to the ao40)
AO42 DvG + awful trait + UB + HS
AO43 IF i reach AO43 i dont do changes to 42...
I still like the idea of adjusting my personal difficulty experience by challenges and traits, but some levers to adjust single traits and challenges would be a massive QoL feature for me.
And some stuff is simply to broken, like berserk rage in later AO DLCs

Wow, Really? I just tried the first scenario and have to give up. After 10-12 turns I could not even hurt an fully suppressed enemy tank/recon with my tanks, they just have too much defense. While my units get almost one shotted. Its like fighting vs tiger tanks...seems to be impossible for me.

If you really want to do this to yourself:
- dont waste your AI troops as mentioned, if they cant do any dmg, you can "use" them as canonfodder later in the mission :]
- sometimes its better to keep enemy units in place and ignore them
- aux force is mandatory i think, you need units to keep enemy units "pinned"
- And you wont ever get all bonus objectives done, so focus on the stuff that is doable just to win.
- good heros are really helpful

15 turns means like +5-7 attack and defense values, in 1936 thats a lot.

It depends on luck what "push" the enemy unit gets. I havent figured out how to check which number has increased outside of checking every single units combat log.
So there is some rng aswell.
Wait for Madrid 2nd time, thats a hell of a mission with both challenges on.
and you must kill all units to win 
But i wont do this ever again, no fun. I needed xx tries to finish scw one single time (im stubborn hehe) with both on, thats enuf for a lifetime

The biggest problem are enemy tanks later in the missions, and if you are unlucky with heros (no tank-killer, no lethal on 21cm or some juicy double attack and rf 1.5 combos) and it can happen that you cant kill all enemy tanks fast enough to the point where you just can pen them anymore.
sometimes the AI is friendly and park high def tanks in close combat tiles, but again, there is a lot of rng in it and for me tons of tries.
so if you ask me, dont do that to yourself

There is no luck involved. as mentioned the onl way to find out whats the actual numbers are was the combat log for me, so i was assuming its kinda random.

Usually that no problem in SCW, since you rely on captured equipment most of the time. But when you planes get shot from 10 to 1 each turn, well thats a different thing.
