anderarcos11 (macedonians) beat gort7078 45 to 15. Scoring is 90 to 15.
Battle that has been decided on the Macedonian right flank, where part of the phalanxes were able to cross the river and finish off the Greek hoplites.

Results to the end of Week 4.
Just a reminder to everyone that all challenges should be posted this week at the latest which gives three weeks for the games to play out. Div A. Looking fairly close between Eric, Tyrone and Rafydedel.
Div B. XLegione & Dreddradish running even so their results against other players will determine the outcome.
Div C. ZeCid has finished, otherwise a bit slow.
Div D. Not many results in yet.
Div E. Triarii making a comeback after dropping last season. Lunecastle also scoring well.
Div F. wzfcns is best placed, nothing from heidipie.
Div G. 4 games left, Bodhran just needs a few points to take it above Bagatrix.
Div H. 8 games left, Garokan is in the club house and will be hard to catch.

A tough game where a refused Viking left and a large expanse of wood allowed Huscarls to hold up the Scots and give time (just before nightfall) for Irish foot to creep around the Scots left.

angusosborne (Gepid) defeats carpenkm (Western Hunnic) 63-53
Score 67:53
I forgot to set the terrain to North European Agricultural as I was supposed to and our wooded hilly battlefield was certainly not easy for the Huns.
The Huns attempted a large scale redeployment from the centre to their right moving through and in front of a forest (with a conveniently placed track), but were caught by Gepid charges. The battle ended up being fought in a very tight space with chaotic evasions and pursuits, with the Gepids getting into enough stupid positions to keep the battle close. I would like to think that this was because of random chance rather than careless leadership.

Bob hasn't posted this yet. It was very close throughout the game so a draw was the right result.
That's my final game in Ancients. Thanks very much to my opponents and TC for organising.

Div C
Karvon's Armenians defeated SpeedyCM's Rhoxolani 50-22 for a score of 98-22.
The field was not particularly favorable to a cavalry army. A stream wound across the center. Large forests blocked off the enemy left corner and our own. A medium sized forest blocked off our right corner with a large nearby rough patch extending beyond the trees towards the stream on our far right. A series of hills and small ridges ran along our side of the stream and a small steep hill fell on our side of the stream in about the middle of the field. Finally, beyond that hill a rough patch stretched across the stream to the woods blocking the enemy left flank.
After surveying the field, we opted for a infantry forces supported by a division of cats. Our infantry was built around a pair of phalanxes and several imitation legionaries supported by a hand full of medium foot and massed bow. We had a large contingent of light foot to screen and clear the woods. We had a few light horse to help cover the flanks and pursue routers.
We deployed our forces on our right. Our lights formed a screen across our front opposite the steep hill and the forests beyond the stream. Our heavy infantry formed a loose line behind them interspersed with massed bow with the irregulars on the flanks. Our cat's formed up in a loose line behind the infantry. Our plan was to push our lights forward to secure the hill and woods while our infantry and cat's slowly followed up in support. I rather hoped the Rhoxolani would try to sweep around behind our left and come up on our rear as I hardly expected them to engage in the confined space on our right. That is pretty much exactly how things unfolded.
The Rhoxolani deployed their forces in the center and to their right with the woods on their left. They were mostly bow and light spear cavalry but had a few lancers mixed in. A number of lights screened their center. They did about as I hoped and shifted right to swing around my advancing forces as we marched towards and across the stream with our lights with our infantry and cat's following a bit more slowly behind them. I wheeled my lights and massed bows left and began shooting and the Rhoxolani wheeled a few lights and cavalry to counter as the rest of his army continued their march around my left wing.
Once he was fairly committed to the flank march we about faced our infantry and cat's while our lights continued to wheel and shoot at his opposing forces. My plan was use my lights and mediums to herd his troops into the confined space between the large woods which covered my left sector and my advancing heavy foot and cat, pinning up against my back edge.
Our lights and mediums saw off most of lights and shot up a number of his cavalry as it skirmished and continued to shift around behind, now in front of, my main infantry and cat line. Our irregular foot was useful in chasing his cavalry away from my lights and further into the maws of my approaching infantry and cats. I aggressively charged his horse with my foot and cat's whenever in range, scattering them towards the back of the field and more and more off the field. My lights and bowmen continued to pelt his horse with fire, wearing down and breaking a few more in the process. He naturally tried running my archers down with his horse and did catch and take out a few. He managed to flank one of my phalanxes, but supporting cat's moved up and weakened him enough that the pikes managed to survive. We drove off the field or destroyed enough of his horse, and his army finally broke.

Triarii (Scots) 60 loss draws with Lunecastle (Vikings in Ireland) 61 loss.
Sorry not sure if score is T61-L60 or T60-L60?
Incredible game which finished with 2 turns left at 60-61.
An eventful game started with woods hiding a massed Scots left with odd units masking the presence of er.. nothing in the woods on the Scots right. This did decieve the Viking Irish who though defending a hill on their right were massively outnumbered there. However, a masterful Viking shift from left to right behind the Viking skirmishers outshooting the Scots from rough ground on their hill and an early double dip success for mounted Huscarls against the extreme Scots left prevented a complete demolition of the Viking right. After that a grinding tit for tat fight - quite an epic.

That is 60-60. Winner gets 120 - losers score.Triarii (Scots) 60 loss draws with Lunecastle (Vikings in Ireland) 61 loss.
Sorry not sure if score is T61-L60 or T60-L60?
The loser getting a maximum of 60, so 65-64 would also score 60-60.
