Turning and Shifting

Post by DaiSho »

Hello All,

I've got a question about turning and shifting (all distances in 15mm scale).

Two BG's of Spearmen (2 deep) are facing in the same direction directly behind one another, so that effectively they have no space between them. The BG in front wishes to turn 90 degrees. They roll their CMT and are successful. Can they now turn? The rules as written would indicate not. There is only 30mm between the front of the BG and the rear, and their width would now be 40mm. However, I'm a little conflicted about whether they can do up to a half base shift 'to avoid friends'.

Read the last paragraph on page 45. That should sort out any conflict.

can't shift with turns page 45 bottom of the shifting section.

Guess you better tell the rear guys to hang back and move forward next turn.

On the other hand it would depend on if they are drilled or undrilled, drilled can move forward and then do a 90 degree turn getting you the room needed, undrilled have to yell obsceneties at the rear unit that they are too close and most likely something about their breeding being equivalent to oxen or something.
