I was happily going on through my DLC campaign started in SCW. I was in late 1942.
I like playing with loads of heroes, so I was playing with the slot limitation and David & Goliath challenge.
I was pretty lucky with heroes (I had something like 5 free slots by then).
I was also playing with just German equipment (i.e. not utilizing captured stuff) and a self imposed "collector" but only applied to tanks.
Then it happened.
I looked ahead and discovered I didn't get something in England which means I won't get a specific air force hero (Hartmann) in 1943. I figure I'll want him in the 1944 & 1945 mods - when they come out, so back to the drawing board.
Fortunately, I was able to restart 1940 with the above core & still have my new favorite hero combination;
Azul infantry with: Dehr, overrun & ignore entrenchments.

While not as extreme of a setback, I did on at least two separate occasions accidentally given regular replacements to a almost 5 star unit, reducing their experience greatly and only noticing it 3-4 scenarios later. Of course in both case sit had to be units that gain experience really slowly, it just never happens to recon cars somehow.

My advice is to always read this post before you start your campaign, so that you know what is collectable in the process.

I actually check that all the time - in fact that is how I noticed that I missed it.Alice1919 wrote: ↑Sat Oct 29, 2022 3:53 am My advice is to always read this post before you start your campaign, so that you know what is collectable in the process.

My mistake was in that I wasn't playing "Kleptokrieg" (as a person smarter than me calls the "Capture" game), in fact I was playing with just standard German equipment, so I wasn't worrying too much about hitting all the hidden caches.
I didn't realize that some of them resulted in later leader awards.
