I share your enthusiasm for adding this often overlooked precursor to WW2.

Unfortunately I have to prioritize my limited time at the moment.
And it is hard for me to justify such an extension while leaving Afrika (ahistorical winning path) as it is.
With the Suez canal cities on the wrong side, Yerevan surrounded by flat land and a few minor hills, as well as the Indus river 250km too far east and flowing right through the Thar desert...
If I find the time for more extensive (scenario) modding again, I'd probably first correct those major issues that somehow exist in the official DLC.
And then perhaps add a new penultimate Afrika Korps scenario, featuring a battle for the Indus river crossing. While pushing back the final scenario a few months, so that the conquest of the indian subcontinent does not start right at the beginning of the (Southwest) Monsoon season. :roll:
Thus essentially splitting the last AK scenario in 2 more manageable and somewhat more realistic parts.

Until then I try to improve the documentation.
This is the 2022-08 Equipment file in .ods format (can be opened with LibreOffice, MS Excel and so on).
For easier comparison of axis unit stats, upgrade families ("Series") and availability dates. It is also available from the original post of this thread (in the download section).

- Tiger P added, as well as desert versions for Ferdinand and Elefant (same chassis). Thank you guille1434 for the great model.
- Initial Sturmtiger added (needs more work from me). Thank you very much guille1434 for this special model!
- Shermans rebalanced and split into earlier and later versions
- Several units had their ground defense rebalanced (eg recon units, 3.7cm Pak 36)
- Availability time extended for many axis units (mainly for QoL and "rule of 1" support)
- Semovente 90/53 rebalanced (cheaper, 1 less rof, but higher GD), now similar to german BuFla and also switchable to AT mode
- Lancia da 90/53 ground attack version base initiative nerfed, and changed to AT class
- Towed Cannone 90/53 ground defense increased
- All 90/53 now share the same upgrade family when in AT mode, similar to german 8.8cm units
- Panzer 38(t) separate version G added (10 ground defense), also desert versions added for E-F and G versions

AK scenarios/campaign
- Most allied AT units with camo ability restricted to be understrength strength, but occasionally some additional AT units
- Turn limit increased for many scenarios (especially from Gazala onwards), to partially compensate for low fuel due to BE balancing
- Several minor adjustments
- Tunisian Bridgehead scenario core limit increased by 2, axis aux units weaker and a bit fewer, some additional allied units

Hi Locarnus!!! Your addon is excellent!!! It gives fresh air to the masterpiece Battlefield: Europe. By the way, may I apply your addon (2.3) on the new version of Battlefield: Europe (2.4)??? Or should I wait for an update of your addon?

I briefly checked BE 2.4, but I could not find significant compatibility issues.

It is unlikely that I'm able to make a more detailed compatibility check and addon update in the coming weeks.
So if you still have BE 2.3, it is the safer option.

So far I only found that the SdKfz 232 and SdKfz 233 icons and animation offsets were changed a bit, so with the addon the firing animation will be a few pixels off on those two (new icons from BE 2.4, but addon has old animation offset values). The other changes to the efx.pzdat don't seem to be detrimental to compatibility.
A quick scroll through the editor unit listings did not show issues there either.
For now, I imho found nothing that warrants a hotfix on its own. But I also lack the time to really thouroughly check for compatibility issues in the near future.

BlueAxisSymbols just changes the minimap symbols for the axis units to blue, which imho makes them better distinguishable than the standard grey.

PG Style Strength Plates changes the strength plates beneath units. PzC default is "blackish" with gold framing for core units and "blackish" without gold framing for aux units (axis). This small mod changes that to "blackish" without gold framing for core units and "grey" without gold framing for aux units. This imho makes them easier distinguishable and it also makes it easier to see which core units have heroes.

I'll try to work a bit on my documentation and main post as well.

This new version of the addon is the first to take BE 2.4 into account and is designed to work both for existing BE 2.3, as well as new BE 2.4 installs.

It will be a slow process taking everything from new BE 2.4 into account.
I started with the naval changes and split up the Do 217 and He 177 again (anti ship missile capability).
Malta is a bit weaker now (in the BE scenario) and defeating the Soviet Union yields more prestige per turn (now in 3 steps, depending on city control).
Otherwise rather minor changes plus some graphical bug fixes thanks to goose_2 reporting them.
Also a bit of improved in-game library documentation, for the german and italian upgrade families.

Unit Changes:
- Naval forces adjusted to BE 2.4 standards (generally weaker against ground units, BBs have more defense)
- Kradschützen 43 have 1 more ground defense
- SdKfz 232+ variant available (inspired by BE 2.4)
- All standard Pak are in the same upgrade group regardless of their switch state
- SdKfz 7/1 and 7/2 can be bought and upgraded from the "tank" class
- Do 217M split into K & M versions (inspired by BE 2.4)
- He 177A split into A-1 and A-3 versions (inspired by BE 2.4)

Fixes
- Tiger P flavor pictures added
- Several animations corrected (thank you goose_2)

BE scenario
- Malta fortress nerfed from 12 to 10 strength (since it also does not pay like it does in vanilla BE)
- Instead of the Axis gaining 300 prestige per turn when no Soviet city is controlled by the Allies:
- The Axis gains 150 prestige if the Allies control fewer than 3 Soviet cities,
- 300 prestige, if the Allies control fewer than 2 Soviet cities, and
- 450 prestige, if the Allies do not control any Soviet city

In-game library
- German upgrade groups page reworked and updated
- Italian upgrade groups page added

Sometimes it seems like giant workaround, just trying to make the best with what is available (Panzer Corps engine limitations!). :)

A bit like the guys in the picture you posted, but thankfully with incomparably lower stakes and less dire consequences.

Ferdinand/Elefant never been as desert versions. Tiger P never been on battlefield (just for training).
