Division A
edb1815 (Bohemian Catholic 1450-1500 w/ Hungarian ally) defeats desertedfox (Indian (Hindu South) 1050 - 1335 AD allies Indian (Hindu North))
51% - 13%
Well played to my opponent who had no rough terrain for his bowmen. This was a battle of 2 halves. The first was a lot of maneuvering in the battlelines as the Bohemian cavalry tried to avoid the wall of 6 Elephants (could have been more!), while the elephants maneuvered accordingly. A race for favorable match up as the lines closed. The second half was a flurry of arrows and a quick rush to contact by the Bohemians to avoid the arrows. Several cavalry, infantry and a war wagon held the left flank and the knights on the right flank turned in to hit Indian infantry before being overwhelmed by elephants. The Indian medium infantry could not stand up to the more heavily armed opposition and a final turn of cascading routes in the center saw the army morale collapse. I was certainly helped by a number of double impact drops on the medium foot.

rpadilla1988 Crusader 1155 - 1291
defeats
wzfcns Polish 1455-1500 (43-18)
Both armies stood at the tropical deserts with the crusaders traversing on high ground but the battle was to be forward. The palm jungles and broken earth was to be the battle line, as both armies used the cover to sling arrows, and a bloody lock of horns ensued. The battle raged, until it was some ragged knights able to get the flanks. Both armies were valiant, GG wzfcns!

carpenkm (Palmyran) beat Bodhram (Dacian) 49 - 23
A proper sea saw battle with hidden cav appearing on the Palmyran flanks. Luckily, enough roman cav survived allowing the ever efficient Roman legions to do their stuff. Great battle

Re: TDC II - Dark Ages - Post Results
This is a result from back in July - I cannot see it in the record.
Triarii German 933-1049 with Polish 966-1057 allies
defeats
mcfcivo Andalusian 756 - 1049AD Allies - Spanish 900-1049AD
46-14
A blocking marsh and steep hill allowed a smaller defensive spear and archer contingent to hold up the Andalusian cabalry while Armoured lancers on horse and on foot outnumbered and broke the Andalusian left and centre.
Was sure I had posted this back in July but could not see it while trawling the posts.

Vadim 84 (German NW with Dutch all.) won against Triari (Danes with feodal German) 46-16
Triarii got very unlucky right from the start, my artillery was abnormally efficient and the melee wasn't any better. The dice won that one, I hope that our next encounter will be more balanced in terms of luck. Really hard to analyze anything this time.
Thanks for the game

Triarii German 933-1049 with Polish 966-1057 allies
just defeats
Kroche Frankish 751-887AD w Saxon (Continental) 600-804AD allies
63-51
very tough game - after storming to an early advantage the Germans had the Franks just about beaten at the 40% but three quick rallies prevented an early German victory. This and possibly the longest, outnumbered, stand I have seen (where Frankish dismounted lancers held against three units, including a rally immediately after being flanked and then failing to disrupt again or loose their General until their eventual auto rout at below 40%) allowed the Franks time to collapse the German left and make the game very very close. Definitely a memorable and nail -biting game until the end at turn 22/23.

Division B
Kroche (Aragonese 1450-1479AD) 35% loss
defeated
Triarii (Danish 1488-1500AD with German (Feudal) 1490-1500 allies) 60% loss
A well executed line of advance saw the Danes angle towards the Aragonese left. The Danish right fielded medium cavalry and in tandem with their light foot scattered the Aragonese skirmishers. A Landsnecht unit engaged 2 Aragonese pike units and started to grind them down while their heavy horse moved into a threatening position on the Aragonese left. Aragonese moved their right (spear, pike and a mounted Man at Arms) to threaten the Danish right flank - this flank was well screened by Swedish infantry and it should have played out into an impasse there while the leftmost Aragonese units were destroyed. Then the Landsnecht general fell which caused multiple disruptions and the Swedish infantry were suddenly very vulnerable so Aragonese defensive spearmen could advance to melee. Even then it took a turbo overcharge from the Man at Arms unit to crash through the Danish line routing multiple units to bring the victory. It was definitely a victory clawed from the jaws of defeat. GG to Triarii and hope his luck evens out soon.

Triarii German 933-1049 with Polish 966-1057 allies
defeats
frederic02 Byzantins 942-962 No allies
38-60
After screened advance to get dismounted German lancers in amongst the weaker Byzantine foot the Germans established a significant advantage and were close to an early win. However the Byzantines (frederic 02) then gave an excellent object lesson in using cavalry against foot to confuse and evade and chip away at the advantage. Only a final catching of a light foot unit gave the Germans a victory at the very end of the game. Well played by frederic02, a good lesson for me.

Kroche (Crusader 1155-1291AD w Syrian States allies 1090-1286AD) 19% loss
defeated
Triarii (Neapolitan 1440-1500AD with Venetian 1440-1500AD allies) 46% loss
Shallow stream separated the two forces. Both could occupy hills on their side. Crusaders had the better of a missile exchange so much so that the medium Neapolitan troops fled the battle. Syrian cavalry crossed the stream on the far right while heavy foot pushed across, with some use of the stream as a defence against the Mercenary Men at Arms mainly brought by the Neapolitans. Main battle was in the centre where the Crusader Standard Wagon saw off all comers while some defensive spear and Knights could overlap on the left. Crusader centre held long enough for the defensive spear to make inroads into the Neapolitan right. Syrian cavalry had some success against the forces sent to stop their advance; the large advantage of having routed all the Neapolitan medium foot, for no loss, helped no end in gaining enough points for victory. GG

The Khorasanian shooting outweighed the Indian in this match. Unfamiliar with closing under fire the Indians suffered in the centre while achieving success on the flanks. We will both be having nightmares about elephants for a while yet.
