On the Slovakian auxiliaries (or other auxiliaries for that matter), you could use an evacuation hex to allow auxiliaries to escape and join your army, or making it a bit more interesting by creating an evacuation hex when a particular strategic objective is achieved, so you have additional forces available for next time.

The other option would be to make them unique units so they reappear in future scenarios until either they are destroyed or they are no longer included. That might be better for a Slovakian Corps or Division joining your forces for a specific series of missions.

While it's impossible to convert auxiliary to core units, you could use a trigger - eg deploy X Slovakian units which then triggers deployment of core units or capture objective X with a Slovakian unit to get a free Slovakian core unit.

Personally I'd think one of the first two is likely to be more useful because it doesn't tie up core slots.

thanks captainjack for the suggestion.
here is a script demo of of this idea - it is a stadalone custom scenario - no mod needed but will work with XXIX if you have it active in GME. seven turns no victory conditions just play to the end.
move BOTH german infantry to the area marked "A" - these auxilliary infantry will be "traded in" for a core HWinf appearing at "B". use that unit to capture the city/flag held by the british. then move your core unit to "C" - that will become an exit hex IF the city/flag is captured - it won't be an exit hex if not. check your "reserve list" during the scenario and after you exit the core unit. you can even redeploy the core unit after it has exited from reserve at the fortification hex. sweet. didn't take long to write, either.
for anybody to use in their own mods or for lennis to use in future XXIX scenarios if he wishes to do so.

A note for the mod installation using the GME, you will not be able to run Lennis mod at the same time as any other mod - it changes lots of files. This applies to all mods unless told otherwise.

The 1939 campaign stubbornly ends in Warsaw. The 1940 campaign begins with Eben-Emael. Where did the Oslo, Lillehammer, Narvik scripts go?
