A very strange battle. The Swiss occupied a plateau with the forces divided into pairs of units. The Danes, almost all on horseback, surrounded the Swiss on all sides. At this point the Swiss formed squares and remained under fire and arrows from the Danes throughout the game, losing two squares and several light infantry units. 24 rounds wasn't enough to completely defeat them. More target practice than a match. Thanks anyway Don for the game.

SawyerK leading the Franks defeated edb1815 with his Goguryeo by 23 to 54.

This game featured very careful gameplay as the Franks warbands were leery of the multiple patches of rough ground. In the last third of the game, the two forces came together with the northern units of the warbands drawn into battles in the rough ground while the Goguryeo medium foot had to battle in the open center. The conflict appeared destined for a draw until the Franks managed to break a general that led to a number of disruptions of nearby Korean units and a rapid end to the conflict. That was a good thing too, as the Koreans had brought a number of heavy cavalry out of the woods on the Franks left that was about to turn the flank.

Division A

Very good week for Mr No.1 (aka Sir Walter Rally?!:)) TyroneC with victories against a close rival, TaBai and eric. The latter leads but will be overtaken by the aforementioned as well as harveylh and zawzgrzyt. Some big big games coming up between those 4 players, which will probably decide who wins the division.

Division B

Oscarius is in the lead with Kroche a close second. However after Oscarius' defeat by Triarii. It is now looking like a 2 horse race between Kroche and Triarii

Tomoegozen is in the lead but I am going to stick my neck out and forecast a 2 horse race between Wellsonian and Ulysisgrunt

Mr Cholo (Dailami with Khorasan) defeats Bagatrix1805 (Arab conquest)

A struggle and complex battle were terrain was favorable to dailamies. Dailamies started on a hill. Veteran Muslims lancers and calvary approach to them from the plain in the right. In the north there was other hill separated for a little stream and a marsh just in the middle and muslims comes with massed archers and some dailamies. Just before muslims toke contact climbing up the hill, a massed archers ran away from descohesionated for a fall back movement, which made some disrruption. I though I will lose this battle. Fortunatelly for me dailamies could hold their possitions on the hill meanwhile a calvary and some dailamies (who I thougt it were hidden till this moment) did a movement from the left of the marsh, defeating quickly to massed archers and some irregular foot in the north hill. This allowed made some flankings a envolving movements from en north hill to the core of muslim spearmen , who still were fighting for the hill

Mainly open terrain with single scatterings of rough ground and a large body of water in the middle. Both armies split forces to the left and right of the water - mainly cavalry forces on the Frankish right with the main infantry lines facing off left of the water. Frankish general (me) felt strong enough on the right to get a victory while moving the left to contain the Dailami force. Melee on the right went one way, then the other when the 2 Dailami elephants crashed in. Franks were still holding and threatening on the right, but their losses incurred meant claiming a victory required a push on the left - the Frankish and Saxon line were of a higher quality overall and were able to engage in numbers that could survive the initial contact with the Dailami impact troops and exposed the massed archers and average spearmen to unfavourable melees. Match was played in good spirit. Good game to Mr Cholo!!
