Just a quick update. All of the 15 scenarios have been designed now. Half a dozen of them still need scripts added to them and work is ongoing. The campaign text, player's guide, scoresheets etc have all been done and I will be making them available as soon as the scenarios are completed. I don't want to give an exact date, but it won't be too long now.

WOTR 2-player text campaign preview number 8

This preview is about "Victory points". These are very important if the campaign goes the full distance to 1487 because both sides still have royal claimants alive at that point.

Here is how you can win "Victory Points" . . .

Winning a battle gives you either 5 or 10 points depending on the scenario (Ludford Bridge 1459, Towton 1461, Barnet 1471 and Bosworth Field 1485 are the 10-pointers). Note: you can gain an extra 2pts if one of your royal characters is a voluntary “C-in-C” in a winning battle.

Enemy noble killed in battle + 1pt

Enemy royal killed in battle + 2pts

There is also an optional advanced rule that you can use in your campaign (highly recommended) that awards 2 "Victory Points" for each year a faction controls the Crown outright in the following years (provided that there has been a battle in that year): 1459, 1460, 1461, 1464 and 1465: 1471; 1483, 1485 and 1487. Note: points are not awarded for years when succession events occur.

You can also lose "Victory Points" too, but you may decide it is worth it as it depletes your opponent's royal claimant and army leadership rosters . . .

Executing a reigning monarch – minus 5pts (public hostility)

Executing Richard Neville, Earl of Warwick (“Kingmaker”) - minus 3pts (public hostility)

Executing any other royal character – minus 2pts (public hostility)

Right - everything is done now. I will spend today doing a final check on the scenarios and then I will send them to Richard tomorrow. The text part of the campaign will be made available on OneDrive once the scenarios are published.

All the scenarios are now with Richard and will be available very soon. The full text campaign is now available on OneDrive and you can get a copy by sending me a request by PM.

News and discussion/queries etc about this campaign will now be migrating to the Scenario forum . . .
