Deeter (Antigonid) defeats Bagatrix1805 (Macedonian) 50-25.

The Macedonians deployed a mass of Thueros and Thorakai on rough hill on their left with many skirmishers in front. On the right stood their pikes, elephants and few cavalry deployed further back in open terrain. A push toward their right drew the medium foot off of the hill where they were quickly surrounded and cut down in the open by pikes, lancers and mediums.

This was some serious warband on warband violence, that essentially fought to a standstill. I was able to match his superior warband advantage with the Palatia, and had more Cav. Sawyerk played very well, and it was one of the more fun games I've had in any tourney.

Morat (Ostrogoths) beat mh5064 (Palmyrian) 43-4.

A game where little went right for the Palmyrians. A constricted battlefield with a marsh on the Ostrogoth left allowed them to lock that flank out and place all their lancers on the right. The resulting cavalry battle on that flank was then decisive - the Palmyrian cataphracts having very little luck against their more mobile foes. The Ostrogoths managed to secure the win before their infantry crumbled.

Thanks to mh5064 for a good game - which was quite a bit closer than the score implies.

Both armies attacked with heavily weighted left wings. The massed English archers attacked through the rough terrain on the left causing enough disruptions from shooting to allow them to wipe out the Rodeleros/Almugavers arrayed against them. On the English right the mixture of crossbowmen and men at arms was quickly swamped by the enemy but good fortune meant that a critical crossbow unit survived way longer than it should have (including a rear charge by mounted knights!) , essentially saving the English right from complete collapse. It was the difference in the game! Thanks for the game to wzfcns who deserved a better result!

Thanks to the large hill, the Qin army was able to shoot over the lights and at the Pontic cavalry. This helped give the Qin the numbers to flank the Pontic infantry.
