Maneuver battle in which the Florentines took advantage of a hill to position their artillery and units at a distance. The Swiss pikemen advanced up the hill and attempted to attack some of the Florentine heavy cavalry only to be surrounded by the rest of the cavalry.

Morat (Ostrogoths) beat Bagatrix1805 (Romans) 69-31

Romans used the ridge line and lights/horse on their left to thwart an initial Ostrogoth mounted thrust, in the centre there was a brutal fight between the legions and the warbands, that was swung in the Ostrogoth direction by some heavy lancers striking the Roman mediums. In the end that - and Ostrogoth flanking horse on the Roman right - swung the day with a series of breaks in the last two turns.

Kroche (Aragonese 1450-1479AD) defeated Bagatrix1805 (Andalusian 1228-1248AD) 42 : 6

Aragonese built a lead following initial skirmishes of light troops. Battlefield was mostly open terrain and the Aragonese line was stronger on the right including pike units and more of a delaying force on the left with a mix of cavalry,spears and crossbows. Aragonese deployed cavalry on both flanks and a Man at Arms on the right flank found itself free to attack the flank of the Andalusian left of spearmen and archers as they were fully engaged with the Aragonese pike and spears - this flanking attack proved the decisive factor and match was won before the more numerous Andalusian right could gain an advantage. GG.

Morat (Franks/Vikings) beat Afromullet Arab (Umayyad) 685-750 AD 49-6

Low hills dominated the battlefield: both sides sought to seize the central ridge - throwing lights backed by foot into a savage struggle on the slopes. Here the Frankish heavy foot came into its own, doing just enough to throw their opponents back. Strong attacks on the flanks were just about resisted by the Franks, and gave them time to finish the job in the centre.

Thanks to Afromullet - who had very little luck throughout.

Brutal battle of two flanks. On the left the Frankish cavalry with some timely infantry support cut up their German foes. On the right, the Germans threw their forces forward over a long ridge and destroyed the Frankish foot/archers/horse combo. In the end the returning Frankish cavalry arrived just in time to rescue the rest of the Frankish heavy foot - but this was a close-run thing that on another day could have gone to the Germans.

Thanks to mh5064 for a great game played in a great spirit.

A very close battle, that seemed lost in the start... but then turned equal... and finally in a close victory...
There were almost two separate battles that lasted until the end ... the fight between Cavalry (with a slight Parthian victory) and the Infantry battle where the presence of an heavy schyted chariot on the right flank was a decisive factor, because of the flank attack threat... that forced his palanxes in defensive position under a rain of arrows... that decided the infantry fight in favour of Urartian army.

Thx to my opponent for the very good fight.

The Florentines lined up a typical formation with pikemen and foot knights on one flank, heavy cavalry on the other flank, and knights defending crossbowmen in the center. The Germans had plenty of artillery and crossbowmen, but few heavy troops. German lines were worn down by crossbowmen and later attacked by foot knights, heavy cavalry and Florentine pikemen. When the German left flank fell, the battle was already decided.

The Dacian warbands camped on a hill while the Sarmatian lancers stood back in reserve. The Indo-Greeks slowly approached and surrounded the hill, leading to multiple flank charges of the warbands. The Sarmatian reserves came in, but were too late to compensate for the fleeing Dacians.
