Alas, the province succumbed to the idiocy of the Northern Rebel's general of the first rank. Having only to defend the deep stream to retain the province, Wai-so-Dim decided to cross unable to bring his heavy artillery and attacked the enemy embedded within a forest flanked on either side by impassable mountains. Wai-so-Dim compounded his inexplicable strategy by sending a flank march straight into the side of the mountain on his right.

A message from the Qing emperor to recall the wayward official was unable to locate him among the numerous dead and dying. The Qing emperor was heard lamenting the loss of his northern province and the opportunity to behead Wai-so-Dim.

No, I haven't accepted Brian (Sorry, awaiting means awaiting acceptance). I've just put it out there for our team... I've PM'd them so we should hear soon hopefully. If not, I'll pick it up though...someone needs to whip these green troops into shape!
I just been advised by lascar that his first general will be more than happy to lead our little green men into battle!

News from the Invaders Monthly.

Greetings, Ming vase collectors

Taka Nomori , our esteemed First General (recently promoted on the demise of Wai so Dim) has pleasure to report to the Qing Emperor that the Japanese Home Army has soundly defeated the Southern Ming Army of Ahuyton.
During the fight our forces were sorely tested and were on their way to a sound defeat when within a bats eyelid they bumped the Ming's casualty rate by 29% after our geisha handed out a small cup of saki to our hard pressed troops. With renewed vigour they routed the enemy 55% to 30% to take the southern Ming province and their stash of recently decorated vases.

Am I allowed to use Joseon army, even though that army province is currently being invaded? If I can, I'd challenge

Ming: Joseon 1618-1700 invades Southern Rebels 1597-1683

Otherwise, if I cannot use Joseon

Ming: Ming Northern Army 1597-1683 invades Southern Rebels 1597-1683

An interesting thought. That may be a good amendment for the future. As it currently stands you may use any army from your faction list
Hence, your challenge is...Ming: Joseon 1618-1700 invades Southern Rebels 1597-1683

I accept your challenge oh mighty General Yi. You will rue the day you established close relationships with the Ming dynasty. Remember, you're just a client kingdom but we offer home rule (and merely a little tribute on the side).

Brian has already issued a challenge for Qing Green Standard Army's Province and it's been accepted.
Perhaps you'd like to try one of the last two provinces to be invaded using an ally army of your choice?

After a hard struggle, on turn 22, my heroic, though desperate, Ming finally saw off Don's Japanese challenge by 60-46. For most of the game we were suffering even casualties and either side could have won. In the end, I was able to use a wood on my right flank to make a mess of some of the Japanese spearmen and I think this made the difference.

Terrific game, very pleasant to play against Don.
