Suspicious “rewards” email

Post by Supagoat »

Today I received a suspicious email from Slitherine/Matrix informing me that i had earned some unspecified reward for having “been with them” for 7 years.

If this is legitimate then it’s a very poorly formed email because it looks a lot like a phishing attempt. By making legitimate emails look like phishing attempts you reduce the the likelihood that users will successfully identify real phishing attempts when they occur.

Ways this could be improved would be for Assaf to include details about what the reward is as well as why simply having made an account seven years ago qualifies me for anything at all. It would also be good to offer an alternative path to receiving it besides just clicking a link in an email.

I just got a mail "Dear rhaak, did you know you’ve been with us for 16 Year/s! "

But I only see coupons for 2016, 2017, 2018 and 2019. And those don't even work.

they only last for a limited time
Your coupon will expire 30 days after it is generated so make sure you use it quick
