Division A
Aetius (Seleucids) defeats Challenge1 (Carthaginians) 56-13
The Greeks got an early lead and never let go, score a bit bloated by mass rout at the end. GG!

Division B
hscic (Seleucid 124-63 BC) draw with gfs26 (Roman 105-25 BC) 54 - 41%
It was a sort of Teutoburg forest battle. All the Seleucid forces where hidden in the woods. Romans where forced to get in to eliminated the defenders. Seleucid medium foot where able to stop and wear down the enemy. While all the Romans forces were engaged in a big wooden area, Seleucid heavy foot counterattacked from a second wood hitting opponents on the right flank. A long battle of attrition followed which led to a draw.
TY to gfs26 for the long and hard fought battle.

Division A
lydianed (Gallic) 61% draws with Kroche (Carthaginian) 60%
No idea how that gets scored.
The Carthaginian elephants sliced through the Gauls like a hot knife through butter, scattering them to the four winds. Enough of them rallied to rejoin the fight to make it a contest and after a while it broke down into isolated contests at the end of which everyone died by nightfall. Great game - very memorable!

Division A.
Stew101 (Numidians with Roman Allies) draws with Blagrot (Pyrrhic with Samnite allies).
Score 0 - 0.
Two well matched armies met on a field offering great defensive positions to both armies.
The Numidians managed to get some LH behind the Pyrrhic lines, but they lacked the numbers to do little more than irritate the Pyrrhic cavalry.
A great Mexicam stand-off.
My thanks to Pantherboy for running this enjoyable tournament.

Morat claims a win over LuciusSulla (by forfeit).
Not sure what has happened to my opponent: no move nor contact for almost a month.

Div A
oscarius (Persians 480 BC) beats Karvon (Gauls 300 BC w/ Samnite allies) 42-5
Better late than never

My opponent played a, to my mind, rather odd strategy of avoiding my forces entirely for the first half of the match. Odd to me as I thought his warband-heavy army perfectly suited to marching straight up to mine, soaking up the arrows and cutting us to pieces on the nice flat open map. Eventually I managed to force a confrontation where my firepower let me take the edge off the Samnites. I knew the warbands would be the tricky part so got my hoplites to hold them long enough for my cavalry (who had been busy shooting up chariots and barbarian cavalry the first half of the match) went for the encirclement.
An interesting manoeuvre-centric match.
