it is used on pioneer/engineer units (infantry) and the Pz II flamm in the game (ignores entrenchment) but its use not limited to infantry/tanks.
it can be used on aircraft and artillery.
how about using it on rocket artillery to distinguish it from "regular" artillery?
how about using it on dive bombers (stuka)?
you'd have to lower the sa/ha stats a bit to stop it being overpowered, right now rocket artillery is just better artillery so i think this is interesting. can it be justified "logically"?
it might make the AI's katushya a real handful.

Well that is interesting. I am not sure where else it could be used though......maybe siege artillery? I am faintly remembering something about the Karl Gerat hitting an ammunition dump buried 30 feet underground during the siege of Sevastopol...that might suggest siege artillery ignores entrenchment.
I would think both rocket artillery and aircraft should be less effective against entrenched units.
Siege artillery is another matter. That seems very smart. Those shells are too large to be impeded by entrenchments (I think that Sevastopol ammo dump was in a reinforced concrete bunker underground as well). How large should a shell be before it qualifies is an interesting question.

Thanks a lot sbpc1!
Your recent findings playing with the Editor are really interesting.
In my case, I could use this trait with some special artillery units (long range missile artillery, etc).
Best regards,
Akkula.

Re: meng trait did you know...
yes using it on really heavy artillery like Karl Gerat is logical. not that the game is exactly logical. they already have fortkiller on big artillery, though. would both be too much?
i'd really like to add some more traits to the game and unit classes. just give me the source code and i'll sort it out! (PzC1 not PzC2)
still looking for a role for rocket artillery other than being better than a 105mm howitzer.
Akkula - thanks for the encouragment - i've got lots of ideas not all of them published here yet, PM me if you'd like to hear them - some are good some may need some input/criticsm. i'm working on scenario scripts at the moment - an underused area of the game.

Negative. rocket artillery & dive bombers dont ignores "entrenchment".sbpc1 wrote: ↑Fri Jun 10, 2022 6:18 pm it is used on pioneer/engineer units (infantry) and the Pz II flamm in the game (ignores entrenchment) but its use not limited to infantry/tanks.

for solve a problem with Rocket arty - transfer Rocket Arty to class 18.
And Max Str [8] at least. And down HA. And raise a RoF. And Up a cost. and will to be continued ...
There would be a mind, and success will come.
Re: meng trait did you know...
The attack-defense differential on Karl/Gustav vs. defense is so massive already that it'd just be for flavor.sbpc1 wrote: ↑Sat Jun 11, 2022 10:57 am yes using it on really heavy artillery like Karl Gerat is logical. not that the game is exactly logical. they already have fortkiller on big artillery, though. would both be too much?
