@ Kerensky

Regarding this Thread: https://www.slitherine.com/forum/viewto ... 54#p918054

At that time, it was agreed with Rudankort that the names of the DLCs would be adapted in German so that they can be read in the menu (otherwise they are too long and no longer legible).

Unfortunately, this hasn't been done since the 1942 DLC, it wasn't generally carried over into the translation.

Now we players in German have a mix of different spellings in the menu screen, which doesn't look nice.

Could this please be written uniformly again with the next patch (also for the 1942 DLC)?

Here's how it currently looks (green box OK, red arrows not), click on picture to enlarge:

Finally...the long awaited AO43 is out. Huray! I really liked the DLC. For its new game play functions and more so as it simulates the slow grind of battle against fixed positions. It simulates the battle for Kursk much better than in PZ 1. And half way one can choose to follow the historical path or an a-historical path which is a nice touch that makes you wonder how it will link up with AO44.

The only "but" I have is that the AO43 campaign seemed rather short. Whereas with the previous DLC(s) I spent many nights battling through the many and different campaign games this one came to my feeling pretty fast to an abrupt end. Maybe the scenario's in total number are about the same but due to the split of paths one gets to play a shorter linear campaign. Or is it because of the long wait between DLCs that I anticipated (read: longed) for more campaign games ;-).

What are the other players experiences so far?

I only played 3-4 scenarios so far, but at first I was wondering why all my imported units have 5 stars. Most of my units have also reached all achievments, so I am already missing an important part in the game: leveling up my units and make them stronger. Maybe thats a reason to make the campaigns shorter, talking about the amount of maps.
It starts to feel repetitive if you have nothing else to do than play the maps.

That's a tendency easy to fall as the game does on, especially in such a long campaign environment. The more experienced units you gather, the more you feel like relying on them entirely, the more rely on them, the better they get and the gap between them and the new or less often used units widens, making it even better to use the experienced ones again. At one point the cycle gets so vicious it's hard to justify new additions to the core. But that's not really the game's fault, it's the same syndrome that RPGs have with players having dozens of potions and scrolls in their inventory for use in "an emergency" and never getting to that emergency state. I try to keep things fresh by mixing things and adding units into the cores, even if just for collective purposes. I started my runs with the same mentality and at that point I don't really feel the benefit of changing it, but as I tried new challenges and rules, I expanded the core force several times in those and it feels really refreshing this way.

Also, the devs are aware of this in a way already - this is what the training scenarios are after all, to help negate some of that experience gap and allow to add new units that can then gain the medals and not suffer the experience difference that makes them hard to use.

In the good old panzer general your core was growing with every scenario, so you had at least one new unit plus some rather new units.
But I also like the fact in PC2, that your core does not get bigger all the time, because that makes no real sense.
To be honest you should play without achievements and extreme use of heroes, so that you often lose units and have to replace them. But its hard for me to punish myself with settings like that:)

Will the achievements for the DLC 1943 be added for the Steam users?
