I'd like to join this league with Alan 651 - 1049 AD

I just saw that you can use allies. Can I change that army to Spanish (900-1049) with Andalusian (756-1049) allies? Or can you decide on allies for each battle?

If you’re the player challenging, you’re free to use allies for the army you’re playing, subject to what’s allowed in-game and that the ally’s time period too must cover 900 AD. So basically you decide on allies for each battle, but only if you’re challenging in that battle.

The battlefield was dominated by a large difficult hill in the centre, occupied by the Spanish and had jungle on both flanks so very narrow.

Both armies completely lost their right flanks. The Spanish flank collapsed sooner and at one point the Indians had a 21 point advantage, but after the Spanish lancers and Muslim spearmen turned on the archers in the Indian centre and inflicted a "routfest" in Dragmio's words. Thanks for the game.

Stew101 (Vikings) defeated Doyley50 (Scots). Score 6 - 45.

The AI has finally given me the perfect field for Vikings.
Woods to anchor the left flank on and hinder envelopment and wide open spaces to exploit a numerical advantage in infantry,
The Vikings massed their better cavalry all on their right to overwhelm the Scots lights and cavalry on this flank.
On their left they able to use a small wood as cover for their outnumbered lights and then force the Scottish lights into hand to hand combat. This sealed their fate, as the heavier Viking foot joined in.
With losses mounting on both flanks the Scottish foot were forced to advance from their strong position.
The Scots had more good quality huscarls, but the Vikings had time to refuse a flank and throw their huscarls at the Scottish mediums first. That an greater numbers giving an overlap, led to a good outcome for the Vikings.
