Double Move Hero
this hero/perk/trait is a selectable option when setting up Rudel. I just played all the way from the SPW thru 1942. I was never given/offered a Double Move Hero except whilst setting up Rudel. Is the Double Move Hero only offered with Rudel? if that's the case, I wish you didn't have to choose between Double Move and Double Attack when selecting his 3 traits but could pick 3 out of the 6 options from the pool.

Re: Double Move Hero
Double Move is disabled if your commander trait has the one that allows your units to move twice. Other than that, it could just be RNG.

Re: Double Move Hero
thanks. u mean the AI won't give you the DM Hero if you already have the commander trait?
Re: Double Move Hero
Afaik, yes. I dont play with double move commander trait and i get double move heros sometimes. but they are quite rare.scorehouse wrote: ↑Sun Apr 17, 2022 3:40 pm thanks. u mean the AI won't give you the DM Hero if you already have the commander trait?
And with the latest patch, it seems some heros are unavailable if you choose specific general traits, like trophies. so i would assume that VirignInTheSky is correct.

Re: Double Move Hero
What is double move good for with Rudel? I mean you still can only attack once. Why do I need two moves?
Re: Double Move Hero
The is no need for double Move on rudel, even when you play with the 1 hero per unit rule, he is almost everytime strong enough to destroy what he is attacking. But you can create a real broken Unit with Rudel Double Move + Double Attack Hero. He can take out 2 Unts per round if you want that.
Or Rudel with double Moce Lightning Attack and No retaliation. Bomb enemy unit and fly out of range of any AA gun. Havent played for some time, desperatly waiting for 43, but if they havent change the rules, you can move Rudel after rebasing with double move on him. At least this was possible some month ago.
To be honest i prefer double Move on Strat Bombers, and the only reason for me to select double move for rudel is, when i got a double attack hero aswell and want a real OP bomber.
Re: Double Move Hero
Is there any list of notes which traits turn off which heroes on the newest copy? I believe this not always worked as intended in the older versions (for example Ruthless trait could in theory still result in Scavenger heroes when I did some experimentation several months ago). Looking at the lists, aside from the mentioned example, it would make some logical sense if Liberator were to disable Liberator heroes (but it is not a given, as this could in theory stack), Operational Initiative disable Thorough Preparation, Trophies of War disable Scavenger, Meticulous Planning disable Double Move (but in theory DM can be still given o aircraft, as the trait works just for ground units), Aggressive Deployment disable Fast deployment, and Slow Reaction disable Readiness and Aggressive Counterattack. Of course that's not something I'm 100% sure of, just some possibly valid speculation based on stacking similar effects or making the heroes useless.
I also wonder if the special challenges - for example how the "no prestige per turn" challenge interacts with Famous and Legendary heroes.
Re: Double Move Hero
from 1.02.00 UpdatePlayers with "Trophies of War" trait will no longer be given Scavenger heroes
I tried to figure out, what traits disable which hero, but there are to many heros and im lacking ideas how to test that out. From my experience, i never got a lethal hero when playing with aa verteran trait. but that could be bad luck. same for the liberator hero.
I think Kerensky is our best chance to get some valid information.
Europe on a shoestring dont reduce prestige gain from legendary or famous heros.
Re: Double Move Hero
I have read this before, but don't believe it is true. I have selected Trophies before and still got a random Scavenger hero during the SCW campaign. It is true that the updates don't have the multiplying effect any longer, but not that it removes the possibility of being given one. If that's how it is supposed to work...well, then it's broken because I have more than once gotten a Scavenger Hero when I apparently shouldn't have.
I have restarted campaigns with Killer Team countless times and can say I've gotten everything. It's truly a RNG thing. It sometimes seems like, "Geez, why does it seem that I keep getting a __________ hero," and then other times you can never seem to get that particular hero even when you want one.
I like putting a Double Move hero on Rudel as I usually select Double Attack. As others have pointed out, it does give you the option of moving him out of harm's way after the attack (I also select Lightning Attack), or moving over another enemy unit to launch a second attack.

Bascially, if a commander trait's effect overlaps with a hero's effect, that trait disables that hero from spawned in the hero list generated at the start of a campaign.

Did you mean double attack in the first message? Otherwise I don't understand it. Anyway, overall I don't understand what I should use double move for?Bee1976 wrote: ↑Sun Apr 17, 2022 8:19 pmThe is no need for double Move on rudel, even when you play with the 1 hero per unit rule, he is almost everytime strong enough to destroy what he is attacking. Re: Double Move Hero
Ok, Rudel is able to crush a Unit alone. So with double Move and double attack you cann kill 2 units in 1 turn. If you recieved many double attack heros, choose double move on rudel. if you recieved a lot of double move heros, put 1 on rudel pick double attack on him.
Double Move offers some nice (but niche) uses:
- Double stratbomb 1 unit, this is quite useful in early game (SCW) so help your Allied AI or to pin a unit down.
- Attack with high mobile, but weak units and move back behind the frontline. i.e. the "Neubaufahrzeug", or a cavalry Unit

Re: Double Move Hero
One more, Double Move bomber can strike its target, then use Rebase to instantly return to your airfield (need to have at least one empty slot there), so if you also have Lightening Attack on it, that bomber will be completely immune to any damage during its raid, unless you are bombing an AA.Bee1976 wrote: ↑Mon Apr 18, 2022 1:54 pmOk, Rudel is able to crush a Unit alone. Re: Double Move Hero
think of Rudel with DM + DA then Tank Killer and Lighting Attack as flying artillery that can take out 2 tanks every time without AA fire damage. let him finish both moves/kills. he's avoided AA already so now position a Camo fighter by near him, he's ready to go again next turn at full strength. put provocateur on the fighter for insurance.
Re: Double Move Hero
Maybe at the start of the campaign, but I have more than once been awarded the Scavenger hero during the campaign while selecting Trophies and after the update. So, it clearly doesn't stop you from getting that hero, or it isn't working properly. What it does stop, however, is the compounding of the award. That much I have verified as true. Unfortunately I cleared out recently all of my saved games so I can't share a game file example to prove it to you. But I wish it would eliminate the possibility of getting Scavenger because it ends up being a truly wasted hero if you are playing with Trophies (which I only select for the SCW campaign).VirgilInTheSKY wrote: ↑Mon Apr 18, 2022 6:56 am Bascially, if a commander trait's effect overlaps with a hero's effect, that trait disables that hero from spawned in the hero list generated at the start of a campaign.
