Aetius (Palmyrans) defeats rpadilla1988 (Byzantines) 48-22
An initial advantage with the ranged units was lost to the Palmyrans when their over-zealous legionaires were flanked in the middle and routed earl on. Luckily the center somehow held while strong gains on the Palmyran left sealed the win. Thanks for playing!

Rosedelio (Bulgarians) defeats harveylh (Berber) 63-48
Bulgarian firepower was able to partially draw the Berbers out of their defensive positions. While the Veteran spears were still able to do a lot of damage, the Berbers had taken enough casualties for the Bulgarians to win the day.

Zawzgrzyt Polish 966 - 1057 AD with Viking 900 - 1049 allies defeats ulysisgrunt Frankish 751-887 with Breton allies 61-53 (68-53 pts)
A very close match, the last rallies have increased the point difference a little bit. The Frankish managed to walk around the hill over the difficult slope and massacred my best infantry. In other places, the Poles were doing better, but their forces were more dispersed. The victory was achieved with the extreme difficulty, it could easily have ended differently.
Thanks for good game.

Division D
vakarr (Thracian (Getae) 279 BC - 46 AD with Triballi (350 BC - 46 AD) ) defeated Wellsonian (Byzantine 600-649 AD with Sassanid Persian 591 - 628 AD)
Scores were Thracians 44 and Byzantines 63
The Thracians knew they were at a disadvantage vs lancers, cataphracts, and elephants, and this was how it went for much of the game, with the Thracians being shot up or charged. However, there was a hill in the centre of the battlefield, which the Thracians occupied in force, and the warbands were able to charge the (defensive spear) skutatoi and disrupt them every time on the first charge. There was a mad scrum on top of the hill, with the Byzantine horse looking to win their way through, but the local superiority of numbers there told, and the Thracians were the victor there. Meanwhile, the Thracian troops holding the left flank were wiped out as they had only an open terrain hill to stand on, and were facing superior firepower, elephants, and lancers. It looked like the Byzantines were going to be able to win, when an elephant which had been fragmented by rhomphia men (before the latter were routed) was charged by the last, and weakest, unit from the Thracian left flank command - a disrupted light horse bow unit. The elephant routed, and in the tests that followed, three Byzantine units also broke or fragmented. At the same time, the Sassanid cataphracts with a general attached was pinned, then charged, by three chopper units on a hill - frontally by falx men, and from the rear (uphill) and downhill by rhomphia units. The cataphracts which had been shot at before, survived for a turn before auto-breaking, thus giving enough points for a Thracian victory. The Byzantines played well, and probably would have won but for the reaction to the elephant rout. A brutal battle, thanks for the game!

Lennard (Scots (Isles and Highlands) 1050-1319 AD with Norwegian 1050-1154 AD allies) defeats harveylh Ghurid 1100-1215 AD w/Indian (Hindu North) 1050-1300 AD ally 54 - 61%
At first the battle seemed to be in favour of the Scots, thanks to Elephants breaking and Highland-charges many Ghurid units started to break in the centre. The fight on the flanks - where most of the Ghurid cavalry units were fighting - was more equal and at the left flank even in favour of the Ghurids. At some point most of the Ghurid infantry was routed and the rout-% reached 59%, which a 20ish lead for the Scots.
But then 4 routing units rallied in one turn, which put the numbers closer together again. The fight now dragged on for quite a time, with the Ghurid cavalry slowly picking apart more and more units and the Scotish desperately running around the field to re-rout the rallied units. In the end it was a very close Scotish victory, but it could have gone the other way as easily.
Thanks for the game!

Hi Guys
Here is an amendment to rule 7, please take note
7. Absent Players & Neglected Turns
If player A is unable to play due to a variety of circumstances. Can you please contact the person running the period and your opponent. If Player A has not moved at all for 1 week plus and has not contacted his opponent and the organiser, player B needs to contact player A and the organiser. This will allow the organiser to contact player A and to confirm if the game can be claimed as allowed on the multiplayer system. IF PLAYER A HAS NOT ACCEPTED A CHALLENGE AFTER 2 WEEKS AND THE PERSON RUNNING THE PERIOD AND THEIR OPPONENT (PLAYER B) HAVE NOT BEEN CONTACTED. PLAYER B NEEDS TO CONTACT PLAYER A AND THE ORGANISER. THIS WILL ALLOW THE ORGANISER TO CONTACT PLAYER A AND TO DETERMINE IF PLAYER B CAN CLAIM THAT GAME AS A 40 - 15 OUTRIGHT VICORY
