Default Army size for games v AI

If I set up a game to play v the AI and I choose force size as 'Medium' the default army size is 855 points for me. I can manually reset it to 1200 but when I do it makes the field wider. Is there any way I can set the default to 1200 to save me having to do that manually each time?

This is because you have the Difficulty Setting set to the 5th difficulty setting (Emperor).

Set the difficulty setting to the 2nd difficulty (Tribune) and you will get 1197 points (if not choosing Auto Force Selection). That is as close as you can get to 1200 without manually resetting it.

Since the only difference between settings 2 to 5 is the points for the player army, by resetting the points to 1200 you are effectively playing on Tribune difficulty rather than Emperor difficulty. There is no point in selecting Emperor and then resetting the points to 1200, the game will be the same as if you simply selected Tribune difficulty.
