What happens if the weather changes to nice while your land unit was sitting on ice the previous turn?

Nothing really, I think it counts as close terrain? Try it... :-)

That's why I was asking here - so I don't lose a unit that possibly sinks in a lake and have to redo the whole turn?

The unit will still be there and it will/can move out of the lake as well, just not sure if its stats change when attacked...
