The terrain favored the Ghurids with a small steep hill on their left flank and a marsh on the right flank. The Indians advanced with 5 elephants in the center smashing the Ghurids’ center. However, the Ghurids helped by the terrain won both flank battles. Exciting game.

I thought I had won the game a lot earlier. Steve had other ideas and got closer and closer. This was another very tough game.

TaBai (East) Crusader 1155-1291 AD with Byzantine 1155-1204 AD allies (9%) 92 pts defeats lydianed (East) Crusader 1155-1291 AD (41%) 9 pts.

Byzantine allies played an important role in the flank and rough terrain of the battlefield.

Lots of heavy terrain, seemed to favor Toureg foot (but lock his camels), on the other hand Berber had lots of archers and Toureg were forced to attack from dificult hill and that make difference.

I think everything worked out perfectly for me in this game. Jawellins (with help of the artillery of archers) successfully attacked crossbowmens. I successfully blocked the Knights. Spearmans did the rest.

Triarii Portugese (47%) beats Warg1 German Imperial (63%) 76-47

A very intriguing game. The Portugese arrived with lots of cavalry and lights and a few camels and deployed all on the left with a long ridge extending to the German deployment. The Germans were predominantly on foot and initially withdrew their right and then counter-attacked very well.
German x-bows and spears become spread out and isolated on their left and were defeated one by one while German dismounted knights and mounted knights saw off the Portugese left. Despite a number of German rallies the Portugese clung onto the lead in a chaotic swirling melee and just reached a victory before the slower German dismounted knights had successfully reunited. This game was very close. Thanks to Warg1.

West Pod B Round 2

Morat (German Imp) (20% losses) beats Zawzgrzyt (Bohemian) (49% losses) (Points: Morat 89, Zawzgrzyt 20)

Lots of early manoeuvring and then a fast and brutal finish. Germans had the advantage of a high and difficult ridge on the left, Bohemians manoeuvred to draw the battle into the centre and right. Swift Bohenian advance smashed up the German centre, while the Germans came off the ridge on the left to overwhelm their foes.

The battle was decided on the German right, where the cavalry battle swung fortunately, but decisively in the German favour. That proved the difference - just in time before the Bohemian centre could fall on the German left.

Thanks to Zawzgrzyt for a great game. I felt genuinely fortunate to have come out ahead on this one.

3rd and 4th placed playoff

ericdoman1: Dailami 1050-1500 AD defeated tyronec: German (North/West) 1200-1319 AD w/Polish allies 62-58 (64-58)

The score should have been more like 50 - 20 to Tyrone, I even commented earlier on if this was a boxing match, it would be stopped.

Somehow a few units, held on and held on whilst on a hill to enable me to take out Tyrone's left flank and a Vet Dailami unit with general routed 4 units of German foot with help from a Bedouin LH and Ghilman unit.
