Karvon - Carthaginian 235-146BC with Spanish 300 -10 BC defeated lydianed - Hebrew 681-586 + Egyptian 664-571 allies 58-30 for 88 - 30 win.
The field was dominated by a long string of hills stretching across the center with scattered forests sealing off both flanks. A large steep hill rose in the middle of this ridge with a narrow pass on its right separating it from another such hill which in turn ran down to the edge of the flanking forests on the right. A small pond divided the open ground at the foot of the long ridge on our right. A fair sized woods lay along the edge of the enemy center with a hamlet before it a bit beyond and to the left of the pond.
We expected the Hebrews to outnumber us in medium foot and to have a few superior ones giving them a slight quality advantage with such. They also likely would have a few heavy chariots which would outclass our own cavalry. On the other hand we would have a definite edge in the open with our heavy foot and our elephants could be used to deal with his chariots.
We brought a dozen medium foot, a mix of Spanish supported by Phoeni, half a dozen spear, 3 elephants, half a dozen cavalry a pair of light horse and half a dozen or so light foot.
Our plan was pretty simple; 8 of the medium foot would seize the central steep hill screened by a few lights to serve as an anchor and pivot point. Our spears would advance through the pass on the right of this hill screened by the rest of our lights and then slowly wheel left flanking and clearing the open area below the ridge and left of the pond. A smaller block of medium foot would advance along the right flank of the spears and clear or screen the village and woods covering the enemy center/left. Our horse and elephants would clear the open area right of the pond and cover the flank of the spears and mediums in the center.
The Hebrews deployed favoring their right. Most of their chariots formed up on that flank supported by a few horse and covered the central body off massed medium foot facing the long ridge and the central steep hill. A larger block of horse supported by a chariot formed up on their left in the open ground beyond the village and woods.
The battle developed about as I hoped; on our left, our medium foot and lights secured the central hill and deployed to defend it, attracting the initial attention of much of his army. His lights and chariots moved up and peppered the defenders with fire while his own mediums moved up to attempt an assault. The concentrated fire took its toll, but we were able to rotate fresh units up to give battered ones a chance to recover.
On the right, our mounted troops supported by the medium foot and elephants fairly quickly destroyed or drove off the opposing enemy chariot and horse division and swept up to the woods and village. Our spears slowly worked their way forward and wheeled to face the opposing infantry in the fields between the steep hill and the woods. this proved to be a slow slog as the Hebrew superior foot formed the core of the line here. We shifted some horse and elephants to help out but progress was initially slow.
On the left, the Hebrews pushed some foot and a chariot around the hill on our left and assaulted our waiting foot, but with our superior position, we held them off and destroyed a few in the process.
Our the right, our lights and mediums finally cleared the woods and village and turned the flank of Hebrews facing our spears in the open ground. We pushed through some of our horse through the woods to further exploit the situation. This led to cracks in the Hebrew center and our horse and elephants moved in to exploit open flanks.
The Hebrew army collapsed shortly there after.

Deeter (Macedon) defeats DocVanNorstrand (Parthian+Selucid allies) 42-17.
Neither all shooty nor all melee, the Parthians excelled in neither and suffered accordingly.

Yes, great table and the average is very helpful.

Division B
Kroche (Teutonic Order 1226-1319AD w Polish 1200-1319AD allies) defeated Lunecastle (Castilian/Leonese 1200-1319AD w Aragonese 100-1274 allies) 62-54
Castilian superiority in light horse caused a lot of damage, but could not get the decisive break in the end. Discipline shown by the Teutonic Knights saw them remain close to the action whereas Castilian Knights couldn't break from pursuit in time to change the outcome. A hard fought contest where both armies gave it their all and there was very little between them at the end. GG to Lunecastle. Oh also some fine delaying action by Teutonic crossbowmen who managed to stand against unfavourable melee odds for a fair few turns
Kroche 68pts
Lunecastle 54 pts

Re: TDC Imperial - Results
Here's the the weekly update as we pass the one month mark.
At this point, you should have at least 6 matches underway and hopefully finished 3, the section average. If you're under these numbers, you may want to step up your pace or you may have trouble finishing all your games by the deadline. This is particularly true if you're playing in more than one section.
And the Golden Rabbit award goes to anderarcos11 in Div D who has finished all 9 of his matches already
If I've overlooked or misrecorded anything, please let me know; I'm not a robot and thus do make mistakes

Karvon
