Captainwaltersavage - Portuguese 1200-1319 with Berber (Marinid) 1244-1391 AD ally defeats desertedfox - Mamluk Egyptian 1250-1339 AD 62:40

A desperate battle of attrition as the hordes of Mamluk Cavalry stalked the Portuguese trying to hide on a hill and in some deep stream beds. The mounted archers took a steep toll of the defenders before they were able to push forwards and manage to catch some of the fleeing cavalry. A lot of Portuguese knights were surrounded and killed but enough of the Mamluks were shot down in their turn, to allow the possibility of victory. The large numbers of light cavalry that the Portuguese brought along were a liability at the start of the battle but proved decisive in the end game. their hunting down of fragmented troops, was essential to keep the Portuguese in the game, and only their heroics in the final turn (24) of the battle clinched a victory.

For a long time the battlefield was dominated by the Romans.
My attack on my left wing with my cavalry was not only countered but almost devastated.
Fortunately my attack from the right on an infantry already engaged body to body allowed to overthrow the part.

Blagrot (Carthage (Hannibal in Africa 202BC)) beat badger73 (Lysimachid 320-281 BC with Seleucid allies) 69%-35%

After the Carthaginians got the better of the initial skirmishing the pikes pressed boldly against a small hill, hoping to find a weak link between the African Vets. Meanwhile their large cavalry contingent swung out to sweep the Carthaginian flank but it seems a large number of horses tripped on the approach and they found themselves pinned between african militia and horse. The panic soon spread to the nearby pike formations as Hannibals spare infantry struck the flanks. A good game and a great spirit when the RNG hated you for a couple of turns.
