Division A

harveylh - Berber (Almohad) 1121-1269 AD defeats ericdoman1 - Indian Muslim 1192 - 1339 AD, 69-40

On a fairly open battlefield, the armies both advanced and clashed in the center. The Indian Muslim Ghilman/Mamluks were very effective and shot up several units of Berber spearmen. Indian horse archers were also effective. Fortunately only one unit of Indian elephants successfully rampaged through the center of the Berber line. Berber spear units largely held on and supported the Berber lancer counterattack. Armoured Muslim lancers and Camel lancers were the key to the Berber win. Closer game than the score indicates. Thanks for the game.

vakarr Thracian (Getae) 279 BC - 46 AD with Triballi (350 BC - 46 AD) defeated Anicydeer533 (Romans 197-284 AD with Armenians) 49 - 63

Another hard fought battle, with fortunes swinging wildly! A single Thracian heavy cavalry unit hit the flank of one unit of cataphracts, routed it, then proceeded to roll up the flank of all the other cataphracts - and survived until the end of the game. This saved the Thracians from certain defeat. A Thracian nomad light horse unit got a medal for holding off four Roman light horse units for two turns. The Praetorians weren't being paid enough and routed pretty quickly, although they rallied in time to go back to barracks on the last turn. A superior Roman heavy cavalry unit kept fighting on its own for turn after turn against four Thracian units, successfully evading charges and not being disrupted until finally it auto-broke from shooting casualties. Both sides fought stubbornly and right down to the wire.
