Re: Soviet Grand Campaign (DLC 37-41 v1.3)(18/02/22)
Soviet GC DLC 42 development.
Scenario Gorky betatest two. A few level bombers have more strength points, chance for AI Bf 110's to attack Soviet fighters at a Soviet airfield has been significantly reduced.
https://youtu.be/6_Sk892l508
Scenario Gorky betatest three. Additional changes: create a city hex at several factory locations; before this change, the AI level bombers were not bombing them.
This is the release candidate. Enemy strength of individual units is still open to this discussion once i release the first part of the DLC. Scenario making involves (a lot of) initial testing, and later (eventually) implementing player feedback.

Re: Soviet Grand Campaign (DLC 37-41 v1.3)(18/02/22)
The winteroffensive 1941-1942 continues in DLC 42:
The creation of the Izyum saillant.
Campaign tree and scenario list sofar:
01. Gorky (a fighter plane scenario). What for could you say?
A triumph will allow you to chose between the Demyansk42 and Izyum scenarios. A victory will move on to Izyum.
02. Demyansk42 (the so-called Demyansk pocket).
03. Izyum (creation of the Izyum saillant, this scenario includes a few Hungarian units too).
I'm considering to release the first part of this DLC as soon as scenarios 1-5 are done and playtested.
I'm not going to record every betatest i do of each scenario but the three betatests i recorded and posted of Gorky seem quite interesting how the AI handles level bombers and fighter/bombers.
You can check those recordings out here: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCk2lye ... 1s7tnTAEJQ

A video preview of the DLC 42 scenario Rzhev-Vyazma.
Can we save the guard cavalry Pavel Belov?
A part of your core army has been cut off, together with Pavel Belov who joins your core army as a SE guard cavalry; there are also partisans and remnants of the 4th airborne division. There are two ways to earn a triumph here.

Who wants to play with the Russians right now ? Not me...
Re: Soviet Grand Campaign (DLC 37-41 v1.3)(18/02/22)
They are Soviets here, and in fact include both nationalities in the current conflict.terminator wrote: ↑Thu Feb 24, 2022 6:08 am Who wants to play with the Russians right now ? Not me...
Which makes the situation even more tragic... War is. That's why it should be confined to history books and computer games and not real life.

But one of the nationalities has now joined the dark side of the Force...
When I play it’s to get rid of everyday ideas...

We don't disagree, my friend.
Re: Soviet Grand Campaign (DLC 37-41 v1.3)(18/02/22)
Hello guys,
What is happening now is a real tragedy. We have family in Poland and we also know some people living in Ukraine.
Although this is an a-political forum, it is understandable that to some people this campaign can be pretty sensitive in these trying times.
Perhaps it is better for the time being to postpone the further development.
There was some time ago a request to create a fantasy campaign for the Italians, maybe i should do this first and leave one certain faction out of it.

Re: Soviet Grand Campaign (DLC 37-41 v1.3)(18/02/22)
Despite all the tragedy of the current developments in Ukraine. But what does the struggle of the Soviet army, not the Russian or Ukrainian or Belarusian army against fascist Germany have to do with today's situation? All games / mods based on PanzerCorps would then have to be discontinued.... e.g. Akkula's Modern Conflict, which is also set DIRECTLY in the present time and in exactly the same area.
It is not easy, BUT it is history and a GAME.
So enough politics......
So genug Poltik......

Of course I fully support the person who does all the hard work for this mod (for free!), not to mention sympathide for the anxiety you must feel over your family. I personally don't see the issue: my country lost around 1 person out of 10 because of the Nazi invasion and occupation (and we were neutral), but I can play the German side in PC. Its history. But I understand how people may see things differently and this is happening right now, not 80 years ago.
When and if you return to the mod and you want it playtested, just let me knoe

I did had planned this weekend a small final update of the first DLC, just the hex name recommendation you made for Kashira. Just to put the final dot on the i as a figure of speech.imp44791 wrote: ↑Thu Feb 24, 2022 5:21 pm Of course I fully support the person who does all the hard work for this mod (for free!), not to mention sympathide for the anxiety you must feel over your family. While memory is still fresh i will finish the test of Rzhev-Vyazma and Fredericus because of the amount of triggers i scripted. I am not going to cancel the project but i need a break after that.

Very nice. If you make a stopover, could I get to work on the German translation? You know . I've already started something like that. Streitmacht
Re: Soviet Grand Campaign (DLC 37-41 v1.3)(18/02/22)
Completely fair enough. If you want a playtest up to the point you got, I'm here. And all of us, let's stay strong. War (the real version) is an absolute evil, regardless of who is fighting whom. It's always a tragedy. It should be left as history and as a lesson for posterity.
Re: Soviet Grand Campaign (DLC 37-41 v1.31)(25/02/22)

Re: Soviet Grand Campaign (DLC 42 v0.02)(25/02/22)
Thanks. I don't know what I am doing wrong, but the game is not giving me the option to import my saved core. The core is definitely saved - I had a save game just at the final turn of the DLC 41 just to make sure and "triumphed" again. There is definitely a save core with the right time stamp at the right directory. Then I use JGSME to flip DLCs and start a new game (from the file tab on the right, which correctly shows me the campaign). But no prompt for core import and therefore no placement phase - the Germans just start bombing.
Am I doing something wrong?

1) Did you delete the equipment file that is included in the download? It's in the DLC 42's data folder.
2) If 1) Doesn't work, is the equipment file that you use to play DLC42, exactly the same as the one you used in the first DLC?
Experience has learned when the core import-export does not work, that it is most likely due to an equipment incompatibility.
Re: Soviet Grand Campaign (DLC 42 v0.02)(25/02/22)
I just JGSMEd one DLC out and then JGSMEd the other in. No other manipulations.
I also use as a basline a clean vanilla PCGold install as a snapshot for JGSME. No special equipment files (well, the ones you provide in the DLCs).

Re: Soviet Grand Campaign (DLC 42 v0.02)(25/02/22)
A last thing that comes into my mind is that the first scenario of DLC 42 contains a unit which is not in your equipment file.
If all fails, than i could abandon the dynamic link campaign approach, and just make one big campaign folder running on one campaign.pzdat file.
Re: Soviet Grand Campaign (DLC 42 v0.02)(25/02/22)
That's going to be my own solution if you don't provide it yourself - I can fool around with campaign files.
Incidentally, thanks for doing the "correction" (cosmetic really) with Venev at Kashira. This is now a really fine scenario.
EDIT: Yes, I did just that, and I am continuing with the old save game without core porting. It makes no difference.
