A question about Ming Chinese

Post by pylum2 »

I want to build a Ming Chinese army, but the list isnt due out for sometime. I have the opportunity to get Ming figures, but I havent a clue as to the army composition. So,should I get alot of infantry and a little cav, alot of cav and some infantry, alot of firearm armed figs? Any help would be appreciatedt :? .

Well the list will allow you to field a lot of cavalry or a lot of infantry as you choose.

The cavalry will be Cavalry and Light Horse primarily armed with bow. (Bow, Swordsmen).

The infantry are mostly MF armed with spear, halberd or other heavy bladed weapons, bow or crossbow.
They can either be field as separate BGs of MF Heavy Weapon and MF Bow or Crossbow, or as Mixed BGs of MF Bow or Crossbow with front rank additionally having Light Spear capability. The list allows some to be in mixed bodies and some separately.

Handgunners can be MF or LF - the MF ones will probably be fairly ineffective. Numbers are not huge as the list only goes up to 1500 AD. You can also have lots of artillery, mostly rocket launchers graded as Light Artillery.
