I haven't checked out the DLC yet, so maybe has already happened, but it would be nice to have dunklegelb (or however you spell that) for Germans

Re: Camo list
You almost had it. DunkELgelb. Literally: dark yellow.
It is not in the game. The only thing they have is called something like 'Default Desert' which looks more like the Braun ( Brown ) color the Germans used in North Africa which is actually more like a tan than a brown.
The reason for that may be that Dunkelgelb didn't make its appearance until 1943. I'm only guessing though.
You're right. It would be an excellent addition.

Re: Camo list
If we go into the Editor, we find a treasure trove of skins for all nationalities..
i don't know if we can edit them into stock scenarios but there's some good stuff in there like these examples-

DUNKELGELB 1

MID WAR

AMBUSH

Re: Camo list
Thats entirely down to the designer and will be done or not for gameplay reasons. The game isn't coded to automatically change the camo at a certain date and to be honest, thats not what happened historically. Paint takes a long time to manufature and deliver. Then the red and green is added randomly at the front. Plus the orders for non-armoured vehicles was slightly different. So the reality is for a transition period of many months.
If it was going to be done it would of already happened in the Balkans and then Fall Blau, since most of the armour in the south would of been painted Tropen I by then (low contrast camo like Bovingtons Tiger 1 ), transitioning to Tropen II by the time we get to Stalingrad ( with some outliers and most non-armour vehicles still in grey ). I would think we stayed with all over grey for consistancy/familiarity for the majority of players, in the knowledge that its very easy to change all vehicles if the player wishes.
I posted all the relevant dates and locations of camo changes here
viewtopic.php?f=464&t=97517#p836464
The camo listed in the editor will only be seen in its entirety in game by those with the General Edition. Everyone else will see a small subset. So while the General Editions price stays the same ( or drops during sales ), its value goes up a little bit with every DLC release.

Re: Camo list
Sorry if I am not understanding, but:
If we buy the General edition, do we get access to all those camos and insignias as we play through any regular campaign and / or a scenario?
Or do we have to design our own scenario or campaign that allows us to use them?

With the General Edition you can do both.GomezAdams wrote: ↑Fri Feb 11, 2022 1:19 pm Sorry if I am not understanding, but:

Re: Camo list
Is it possible to customize the insignias for the US aircraft (fighter/bomber)?
As an example, the P-40 fighter is shown left next to the A-20 bomber and with the US-Fuselage-1944 insignia. The fighter has the correct placement of the insignia, the bomber has the insignia incorrectly attached also to the right wing and tail. These positions were mostly empty, otherwise squadron markings or numbers were shown on the tail of the bomber.

Re: Camo list
Thanks for making all these great camos! I just got the General Edition upgrade and am very impressed with the variety of patterns. They will make playing hot-seat with my kids a lot easier.
Is there a way that I can get or make some really bright infantry camos? Obviously throwing historical accuracy and common sense out the window, I am looking for something to help my kids quickly and easily to tell our units apart from each other. We have plenty of options for that now for our vehicles, planes, and artillery, but I can't find a good way to align our infantry camos with our preferred vehicle camos.
While my son and I do pretty well using summer and desert camos to tell our units apart, my daughter has a harder time (she is only 7). Even the pride camo, which she likes, doesn't stand out enough to grab her eye quickly. She would really benefit from a very bright color for her infantry. Something like the garish but for our purposes very effective "Camo - pink" or "Faction colour cyan - colour blind friendly".

Sure, I'll see what I can add. I can't say when they'll be available though as I've no idea when the next update will be going out.Bigfritze wrote: ↑Wed Feb 22, 2023 8:12 pm Thanks for making all these great camos! I think this has been mentioned before, but I'd like a pure black infantry camo for which there really isn't one yet for infantry, only vehicles.
I too like to match my vehicle and infantry camos but there are few combos that really work. Moreover, most of them, when zoomed in/out to gameplay levels, are hardly distinguishable from one another. In short, you can only tell the difference when you are zoomed in really close. Too close for play.

On... a "Simplier-Note:"___
The "Camouflage-Patterns"... are overall quite-good!... but for myself... i'm finding that after they are applied... especially to the smaller sized units... it's not so easily readily discernable to be able to rapidly locate and recognize specific unit types... when at first glance... everything- all the game units- seem to all look the same.
Much of the time i really like using "Solid-Bright-Colors" to be able to instantly see who is what... and where they are located. Therefore... i would like to make a request for more "Bright-Solid-Colors"... More!!!... Colors of the Rainbow... to be put into the Camouflage-Inventory assortment!.

Re: Camo list
Stupid question but what is the Tactical bomber default camo for AO?
They're like orange, but when I check the camo list, the 'default' is actually supposed to be the usual German Grey.

Re: Camo list
AOSCW starts with 3x TB. They have the Orange camo.
I have not purchased any TB during AOSCW so I don't know If they default to the Orange.
It is possible to change defaults on the fly, ie to Winter, to Desert, ...
There comes a time on every project when it is time to shoot the engineer and ship the damn thing.

Re: Camo list
RLM 62 over 63, the skin is manually set to that one and not default, you can check it in the editor. The He 70 Rayo uses RLM 02 over light grey.

Re: Camo list
Kerensky will often give certain models with important roles anachronistic camo so they can be more easily distinguished.

I used the red experimental paint camo for any specific heroic units for example, I was just wondering about these ones.
My only trouble with the camo list, is if I pick a camo myself for the summer, it never switches over to the winter one automatically.
