minimum graphics requirement

Post by rationabile »

anyone tried running WITE-2 using a graphics card with only 128MB? Since WITE requires 128MB minimum I'm wondering if I could get by with what I have for WITE-2. Or does WITE-2 really need 256MB video RAM.

What is your system if you genuinely only have 128MB of video memory?

Cheers

Internal video cards like that do indeed have a limited amount of dedicated memory, but they work using a unified memory architecture, meaning they have access to much more system memory. So Wite2 would likely work fine, assuming that it doesn't need more system RAM than you have available. Though, as you say, it is a fairly low power laptop.

Cheers

Thx Pip,

I'll give it a try and hopefully it will work well enough. I'll post how it turns out.

Seems to be working fine so far. I ran through Vilikie Luki twice and let the computer run turn 1 for the Germans in the '41 campaign, all with no issues. I'm a happy camper, thx for the feedback.
Now it's on to the fun stuff, like getting a good handle on the game mechanics.
