Try hitting SHIFT+Q to check the frame rate, in case it is running too fast (and thus too hot). Are the fans turning on at full speed during play?

Before I uninstalled the Raedon software it showed 60+ FPS for FOGII. I will have to check the fans. I have not noticed excessive noise while playing. Now after a crash and restart the fans sometimes come on at full speed briefly and then quiet down.
