early middle ages like in Wolfs at the Gates?

Post by Stundorn »

Are their Plans of adding early middle ages armies Like in Wolf at the Gates in FoG2?

Or can you integrate it into FoG2:M?
Didnt find any Mods.

If planned i can wait, the next announced DLC Storm of Arrows is also very interesting to me, but i would really like to have some karolingian armies and also replay some of the viking ambushes etc.

Do i need to buy Fog 2 and DLC or are their possibilities to have it for FoG2:M?

I read there were plans in the Mod Section.

I think there is no plan from the devs to add the Early middle age Armies of Wolves at the Gates to FoG2: Medieval.

But, in FoG2: Medieval, you can play fantasy battles opposing any FoG:Ancient army (thus e.g. an early middle age Army from the Wolf at the Gates DLC) and any army of FoG2: Medieval, using the Time Warp module in the Custom battle options. That's free. No need to own FoG2: Ancient or any of its DLC ! But that only works with one army of FoG2: Ancient vs. one army of FoG2: Medieval.

So, if you want to play early middle age Armies matchups (that is one army of FoG2: Ancient vs one army of FoG2: Ancient), you need to own FoG2: Ancient and Wolves at the Gates, a DLC I particularly like.

That's not entirely true. Because of the overlap between Time Warp armies and Medieval armies you can play quite a lot of early middle age matchups; Viking (900-1049) vs Anglo-Saxon (871-949), Welsh (600-1049) vs Scots-Irish (477-899) etc.

I think you just need one of the armies to go past 1000 AD, and then they can play against any purely Ancient era army.

So to be clear; the option to play with Wolves at the Gate armies in FoG2Medieval already exists, just load the Time Warp module in Custom Battles or Campaigns.

Hello and Happy new years Eve to both of you.

That Sounds good, i will try tinewaro, although i Like the historc accurate Battles the most but unsere there are some as Close ad possible Options without to buy anything. I also consider to Just buy Fog2 + the DLC maybe even all DLC as they are at Discount atm.
Just watched a documentary about Battle of Gaugamela and well, didnt know Alexander did what he did and are impressed enough to try to immerse back in time and take over.

Its such a good game and system and you read the author posting here all the time what makes him look very much involved. Although i'm more or less new to this sort of Games and still struggle with the rules and feel like i'm doing stupid things that only prolong Battles without any need - Go beginners Games are like that, they often do a lot ot moves that are completely unnecceseary and only prolong the game without any benefit, but because they havent grasp the rules and how to play entirely - its fun and that is what counts the most.

Guten Rutsch ins neue Jahr
Have Fun -. Stun
