Sign up below with your Home Army and optionally your Map choice.

Armies are restricted to the period from 600 BC to 600 AD, if it overlaps any of that time period it is valid.
There are NO Allies.
You cannot select an Army list that has already been chosen, however there are no restrictions on multiple armies of the same nationality as long as they are for different dates.
You must have all the Ancients DLCs to enter.
Players are committing to completing 8 games in the 8 week time period, and to starting 2 matches (that is two mirror matches of two games each) within the first week. If you are unable to commit to this then do not enter.

To select a Map you need the Region (Med., N. Europe, Middle East, Tropical, Desert or Steppe) and the Type (Agricultural, Rough, Wooded or Marshy - Mountain is excluded as it leads to maps being too restricted). For Tropical it is either with or without Marshy. Desert and Steppe have no type. The Regions for each army are listed below. If you don't select a map then it will default to Pot Luck.

Syracusan 280-211 BC, Mediterranean, Rough is valid.
Syracusan 280-211 BC is valid (defaults to Pot Luck)
Syracusan 280-211 BC Steppe is invalid.

Registration will close on the 7th Jan, players will be grouped into divisions of 5 - if the numbers are not right for full divisions the last few players will be in reserve for any drop outs.

My hope is that players will select some of the less used armies as with them all being mirror matches picking a 'poor' army doesn't have the usual disadvantages !

I'm in. Byzantine 600-649 AD, Pot Luck. (Hopefully ok, if starting in exactly 600 AD, I'm choosing it because there are so many different opponents, not to stress test the system.)

Unfortunately not, either Pot Luck or Med + Type.
I think Pot Luck will use one of the Regions from the two competing armies, there is a priority as to which one it uses but I don't know what the criteria are. Maybe someone else knows ?

Where the armies have different home map sets, the game will use the highest priority map set in the following list (highest to lowest): Tropical, Northern Europe, Mediterranean, Middle East, Steppe, Desert.

The "Pot Luck" element determines whether the terrain is Agricultural, Hilly, Wooded or Mountainous, with the following probabilities:

60% chance Agricultural
20% chance Hilly
10% chance Woodland
10% chance Mountains
