DanZanzibar defeats Kroche 44-12
The warbands performed better than usual and caused a number of disruptions on impact. Since there were only a few turns remaining, this would have most likely turned out a draw if they hadn't. Thanks for the match Kroche... you deserved a little better luck than you got.

Sorry if this one hasn't been reported.
Aetius39 won, but I don't recall the rout percentages. However, it was 4-0 to Aetius.

Flockaveli (lombard) beats Aetius39 (roman) 63-36
The romans were better fighters, but were unable to chew through the mass of raw spearmen before the Lombard lancers rolled up the flanks

Re: Chaos Tourney VI
19 Kroche Aetius39 Alan 651-1049 AD Italo-Norman 1072-1154 AD
Kroche (Alan 651-1049AD) defeated Aetius39 (Italo-Norman 1072-1154AD) 60-37
Alan cavalry faced off against Italo-Norman massed archers with heavy foot and Knights in support. Alan horse archers managed to survive the massed archer fire and could then target those archers with charges that broke their will. Alan Lancers had to take on the Italo-Norman Knights and held them up long enough for the weaker Italo Norman units to be cleared up. Alan cavalry was down to bare bones at the end with multiple units within a few casualties of autobreaking so the victory came just in time as the Italo Norman heavy foot and Knights were about to put the squeeze on them.
A very enjoyable game, thanks to Aetius39.
That is it for me in Chaos VI - had lots of fun and used lists I wouldn't normally touch!
Cheers

Geffalrus (Samnites with RNGesus ally) defeats Karvon (Norwegians) 10-42
The map was a flat open plain, both sides brought mostly a mass of infantry with a few support troops, and nothing clever or subtle happened. I charged my Samnites into his shieldwalls and the impact foot came out on top......a lot. Offensive spear and heavy infantry cohesion penalty for medium foot never got a chance to come into play because most fights were decided either on impact, or after one round of melee when the other Samnite foot flanked the Norse spearmen.

Geffalrus (City Arabs) defeats DanZanzibar (Indians) 10-41
Cheap heavy foot and cheap lancers ended up being a decent combo vs the massed archers and elephants. The heavy foot survived the trampling just long enough for the lancers to outflank the main line, and for the rest of the cheap foot to get to grips with the squishy archers.

My two games are quite bloody affairs that are too close to call as of the match midway point.Karvon wrote: ↑Sat Jan 01, 2022 10:15 am I show three games yet to be reported:

Re: Chaos Tourney VI
I completely overlooked my game with Aetius, I'm afraid. I've just put up the challenge, but I understand if it's too late and people want to wrap up the tournament.
Game with Gefallrus: 47 Kerait Geffalrus Seleucid 302-301 BC Italian Hill Tribes 490-275 BC - this was a bloody grind with no clear winner so I think we've decided to call it a draw. Please confirm, Geffalrus.

No problem; go ahead and finish up. We're a small tourney this time around so I'm not so worried about the deadline.

Re: Chaos Tourney VI
Agreed. I think we’re at like 35-40 or something like that. To win I’d have to start breaking healthy pike squares with medium foot, while Kerait can’t leave square or it’s Flank City. With infinite time his cavalry could come back, but even then, I can retreat to rough or forest and the impasse continues. Great match overall. Pike sledgehammers vs a massive medium foot swarm.Kerait wrote: ↑Thu Jan 06, 2022 11:00 pm I completely overlooked my game with Aetius, I'm afraid. Honorable draw it is.
Correction: I'm at 48% and Kerait is at 45%

Re: Chaos Tourney VI
Geffalrus (Byzantines) defeats Aetius39 (Swedes) 60-36
A mass of cavalry backed up by some infantry vs. a mass of infantry backed up by some cavalry. To no one's surprise, this turned into a grueling slugfest where my cavalry archer/lancers tried to slowly whittle down the sturdy Swedish Spears, while the Swedes tried to hack down anything not on a horse. Thousands of dead infantry later, the Swedes ran out of things to easily kill, and had to grumpily endure arrows and lance charges while the Byzantines slowly inched their way towards the 60% victory threshold.
Good game to my opponent, and big thanks to Karvon for keeping this whole thing running. That's it for me and Karvon's Chaotic Universe!

Nice! Gotta love tense battles like that. I'm having a very similar experience in the LOEG at the moment with my final match of the pod.
