Is there a library of user created scenarios

Post by vapors201 »

Hey all,
I have been searching and cant seem to find a curated library of user created scenarios for Panzer Corps 2. I can imagine the scenario designers in this forum are producing some great stuff and was wondering where they might be sharing it? Can someone point me to what I hope is a rich treasurer trove of scenario goodness :-)

Thanks!

There isn't one for this forum, which is odd since PanzerCorps 1 has a library here - viewtopic.php?f=147&t=39055

At the moment it seems that you're going to need to jump from page to page and narrow down the topic title which usually starts with Custom Campaign or Scenario

A problem I find with many created scenarios is that no matter what parameters are set the majority of the enemy AI force does not attack. I've seen this numerous times and heard it from others too. SP artillery and recce units move forward leaving the tank men and infantry behind, playing cards or writing letters home.

If Slitherine put up a "User-created Scenarios" section I'm sure we'd be glad to contribute our masterpieces to it..:)
How about it Slith?

Try going to Edit > Scenario parameters > AI
and juggling these settings to see if you can kickstart the AI into action-

Also I find that the AI will often leave some units on 'garrison duty' in some rear objective hexes, so perhaps cutting down on the number of objectives on the map will encourage them to go to the front line instead to strut their stuff.

At the moment there's no "User-created Scenarios" section and i've suggested to Slith that they make one.
In the meantime we can play any of the Campaign scens individually-

Incidentally, I'm currently on game version 1.01.21, so suppose I create a scenario with it and put it up for download; will it be playable by other people who have earlier or later game versions?

Not neccesarily, no. You can't expect a scenario to work as intended if it relies on features that didn't exist in a previous version of the game.

So when you release your scenario its good form to indicate what version of the game it was created with or is currently compatible with. It is then the responsibility of the player to upgrade their game so it at least matches that.

Going forward in time, new versions of the game are less likely to break the scenario however this is not a given as the developers are never going to stunt development just in case it breaks a modders scenario. If that happens, it's the modders responsibility to fix and/or re-export their scenario and provide it to the public. Maintenance of your own scenarios is part and parcel of releasing them to the public.
