Division A
klayeckles (Thracian + Dacian) defeats nyczar (Roman + Pergamene) 61 to 49
wild thracian warbands ran for the woods and managed to stand off against the romans guarding a massive hill while the other half of the army circled around the woods to the flank of the romans...these warband armies have that yatzee quality--you never know where they'll end up and what they'll do when they get there. Not the most consistent army to play but it has certainly had some exciting and gut wrenching moments..

Division B
lydianed (Gepid) defeated Najanaja (Roman 24-196 AD with German Foot Tribe Allies) 41:2
The Romans took up a defensive position, right flank secured on a river and the left flank by a large rough hill. The Gepid lights stormed the hill and after a very loooong battle of attrition broke the roman left flank. As the romans moved forward to stage a fight back, opportunities appeared for the Gepid lancers to get in behind the roman lines and get at the (relatively) softer targets presented by the German foot. Score is unfair to Najanaja who had few options on a map that really suited the Gepids. Thanks for the game.

Division B
Morat (Sarmatian) drew with IMC (Jewish Revolt) 9-12
A battle field dominated by woods with significant broken ground on the right meant that there was quite a lot of action between the light troops - but the main elements of both armies never got to grips with each other. With dusk not far away both IMC and I shook hands and have agreed the draw.
That marks the end of the Sarmatian roller-coaster in this league. It's been a blast - and many thanks to Pete for his excellent organisation.

A tough old game, the spears pretty much ground it out while bows and xbows rained death from afar on both sides, general deaths on both sides caused the battle to teeter on the edge until the Aragonese centre collapsed. Thanks for the game, until next time.

Division D
Kerait (Ghurid) defeats Blagrot (Berber) 59-26
Fun game! The game began with a fierce contest between the armies' skirmishers which left both sides bloodied and the situation roughly even. Then, the Berber veteran spears advanced. They posed a major threat, but the Ghurids managed to intercept them and hold them back long enough that medium cavalry and foot could skirt around their formations and flank them.
A satisfying match whose outcome was uncertain long into the day, with a clear build-up, climax and conclusion (almost cut off by nightfall). Good game to Blagrot!

Marvin_The_Arvn - Castilian/Leonese 1200-1319 AD and Kroche - German (South East) 1200-1319 AD have agreed to a draw.
Neither side has reached 25% and the German dismounted knights are looking at soaking up a large amount of xbow fire and then attack the Spanish spears uphill. Thanks for the game and next time I'll meet those dismounted knights with my own

a great season...thanks to al my opponents and Pete! i'd encourage anyone that wants to learn some new tactics to consider this army...loose warbands and naked HW troops require a whole different mindset.
