I hope i will be able to share my scenario tonight or tomorow. I have some minor things i want to fix, but i have done the biggest (i think). I'll edit the first message of the topic, and put the link to the "testable" stuuf, so you could help me by playing them ^^.

The easiest thing will probably be to do a period of time called a Strange War : ) ?
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Phoney_War
The "Strange War" is usually referred to as the campaign on the Western Front from September 3, 1939 to May 10, 1940. So it was called by the French journalist Roland Dorjeles, and in the USA and Great Britain it was called Phoney War – "fake war"

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Saar_Offensive
"Sickle strike" on the old ideas of war
https://warspot.ru/961-udar-serpom-po-s ... am-o-voyne
1940.
"Strange War" is a term attributed to the period from September 3, 1939 to May 10, 1940 on the Western Front.

Hi uzbek 2012, the link to the scenario is on the first post of this thread.
I'm thinking about a first chapter of this campain called "La drôle de guerre", you could see my ideas also on the first message. I need to work on the second scenario, and to learn how to link scenarios in order to play them as a campaign.

Re: French Campain
The difference between core and auxiliary units is much more important for the player. Core units follow to the next scenario, auxiliary units do not (except when an auxiliary unit is "special" or there is an exit zone for player units).Ainkatsiss wrote: ↑Wed Nov 17, 2021 5:53 pm I'm working on my first scenario, the french offensive in the Warndst Forest, just before the Saar Offensive, i've manged to do the terrain, i've placed some units, set up some triggers, but i have some questions:
- What is the difference between core and auxiliary unit for the AI ?
- When i test my map, i have no deployment phase, how can i have one ?
- How to add new unit to the game ? For the 39 stuff, i think i have quite what i need with the french unit, but it could be nice to add some, especially if i manage to go far in my grand capaign project.
- What is the scenario image ? I've add one, but i can't see it in game
- How to add an hero picture ?
I'll probably have some more question later ^^. And if some want to test my first atempt, i'll be glad to have some feedback.
For the AI it does not really matter. The maximum number of core and aux units for the AI can be defined in the drop down menu "edit" - "scenario params", tab "sides". The AI will not purchase units as long the number of its units is equal or higher to the number set in the tab "sides". The AI also needs prestige to be able to purchase new units, and at least one AI owned city with its flag.
There is always a deployment phase, but you need to define the number of core units for the player (tab "sides") and mark areas with the deployment symbols on the map; the top down menu edit, "special hexes". The grey tank icon and the grey plane icon allows such units to be deployed for Axis player, the green ones for Allied player.
A manual i wrote long time ago to add custom units in the equipment file: viewtopic.php?p=291176
You can add a hero picture: top down menu "edit", chose units. Place a unit on the map, shift left-click on the unit, chose "heroes", then you can give a name, add values to certain attributes (attack, defense and so on). The field "image" must have such format: image.png; for example rudel.png. Hero pictures go to panzer corps/UI/Heroes. Check the properties of one of the heroes in that folder for proper size for example.

Thanks a lot for all of your answer. It's really nice have answer from a "pro" modder !
- For aux/core unit for the AI, i was wondering if the AI will use them diferently, or just the same (trying to protect core, repairing them, ...).
- I must do something wrong for deployement. I have slots for my core, and i can buy them in the first turn, but i can't buy/deploy them before the first turn, any idea ?
- Thanks for the link. I'll try to work on some new unit for the french. This also leads me to another question. Not many nation have differents standard infantry, is there a specific reason ? One esy thing to do for the french is to represent their infantry diversity, with north african infantry and fortress infantry for exemple.
- Thanks again. This leads me to another (!
)question: If i have changed multiple files for my scenarios, is there a specific way to create a "bundle" i can easily share ?
I go back to the editor, waiting for new comments ^^
PS: maybe just a last question, based on your experience. As i'm planning to work on a grand campaign, do you advice me to work first on something (equip file for exemple) special, or just to walk through the project, ?

Re: French Campain
The AI will not use such units differently as instructed in scenario design: attacker or defender and eventually repair. But each single AI unit that starts at the beginning of the scenario can have separate orders. As said, you can go into detail for each unit, Alt left-click and there you can also chose "AI behavior". Units purchased by the AI during gameplay, will only behave as set in menu edit-set params-tab sides: attacker or defender.Ainkatsiss wrote: ↑Thu Nov 18, 2021 12:04 pm Thanks a lot for all of your answer. For the question of deployment: you must have sufficient core slots, there must be enough prestige to purchase units, you have to designate deployment zones (menu edit, special hexes, the grey or green icons for land and air) and menu edit - scenario params- tab "nations": you must select the nation(s) for the player and the AI as Axis and Allied.
Indeed, not many nations have different kinds of infantry. It must have been decided that way by the game creators. Their focus lays on the major countries (Germany, UK, USA, Russia), less on countries like Italy, France and Poland and much less on Axis and Allied minor countries like Norway, Belgium, Bulgaria and so on.
Are we talking about single scenarios, or something like a campaign? Single scenarios go into the scenario folder, campaigns go into the mods folder. How a "campaign" structure looks like, you can check for example DLC 39, specifically the campaign.pzdat file. Single scenarios can be simply zipped and then extracted easily in the scenario folder. A campaign should be zipped so that it can be played after unzipping in the mods folder. The main folder is the name of the campaign, the subfolders are data (which contains the scenarios, the campaign.pzdat file), eventually UI/heroes folder and in the data folder should be a subfolder called briefings for the scenario briefings. You can also check my latest creation, download and unzip in documents/my games/panzer corps/mods folder and check out the structure of the folders, scenarios and campaign structure.
If you decide to create a campaign with user created units, you should get your equipment file done first, and then the scenario creation. In a later phase you can always add more units in the equipment file, as part of an update for example but at least you need a basis to start with.

Re: French Campain
Thanks again.
I am working on a campaign, but i will probably go slowly because it's my first try. I'm actually trying to make it work as a campaign for my 2 scenarios, but for now i can't see the "more campaign" button in game, i must have missed something.
Now that i have (quite) 2 scenarios, i will work on the initial additional units before going further on the campaign.

I won everything )
No picture French parachutist
https://zen.yandex.ru/media/pryazhka/fo ... 00b137a876"Go!" the Russian pilot shouted, and Captain Fred Gillet stepped into the void... Gillet was one of three French officers seconded in April 1935 to the USSR to learn the skills of Russian paratroopers and study the experience of the formation of Soviet airborne troops.
Their report on their return served as a decisive factor in the establishment of a parachute school in the south of France, near Avignon, and already on November 26 of the same year Gillet made the very first parachute jump in the history of the French airborne forces.
On October 2, 1936, by order of the Ministry of Defense, the 601st and 602nd Air Infantry groups were created. Subordinate to the command of the Air Force, these groups included a company of parachutists and an aviation squadron.
Volunteers were recruited from other branches of the armed forces. In May 1937, the first group jump took place. By the time the Avignon Parachute School was disbanded a year later, it had already managed to train more than 150 instructors.
With the outbreak of war, airborne groups stationed in Africa were hastily transported to France. The 601st was already preparing to land over the Netherlands when the operation was canceled at the very last moment.
Until disbanding in July 1940, both groups operated as independent shock formations. The Americans, who landed in November 1942 in North Africa, took under their command 250 parachutists of the 601st group, who continued to train there in secret from the Germans.
In January 1943, the unit again came under the control of the French army, and the 1st Airborne Regiment was formed from 1,850 of its personnel. Attached to the 1st French Army, the paratroopers fought in the Vosges Mountains, in Alsace and on the Rhine.

You can zoom (+) or (-), there are a lot of hotkeys in OpenGeneralAinkatsiss wrote: ↑Tue Nov 16, 2021 3:38 pm I played a lot to panzermarshall, especially because it can be played directly on browser (which is usefull when you play at work for exemple ^^). Max zoom :

I've re installed open general, and the zoom will probably help me to keep playing it ^^. I have some trouble with the unit management. If i don't attack when it's active, i can't attack anymore, it a bit counter intuitive for me.
For my french campain, i would like 9to know how much historical you like to play. For exemple, after the 2 first mission, we could imagine to try to move further and attack the Siegfried line, maybe to take Saarbruck, which is non historical. So how many freedom you like over historical result ? I don't want a campain too much un historical, but i think a more massive attack, forcing the german to bring some more troop to the west, could be ok.
Technically, i have some problem, if someone could help :
- Is there a way to put some mine unit in the player's core ?
- I can't have this fking deployment phase, i don't know what i miss.
- I can't link my 2 scenarios in a campaign, and i can't figure out what i miss.
- Is there a way to change a tile during the battle ? During the Saar offensive, german pioneer destroyed the bridges, and i would like to ba able to do that in game.
- How the units are chosen when playing a single scenario and the the same scenario in a campain ? The core unit of the single scenario are not deployed while playing it in the campain ?
