mh5064 (Chinese 3 Kingdoms (Wu) 222-280 AD) beat General Kostas (Chinese (Jin) 266-316 AD) 61-55
What to say, at the end of a hard battle fought openly there were only a few troops left for the two contenders the victory went to the Wu faction once again luck decided who should win, certainly not the demerit of my opponent. Congratulations great General Kostas. Ad maiora.

Division F
mh5064 (Roman 24 BC-196 AD ) beat LindsayCole (Roman 285-312 AD with Armenian 253-476 AD allies) 45-14
Roman 285-312 AD with Armenian tried to ambush the Roman Execito through woods and hilly terrain. The Roman army promptly reacted by dividing its troops into two sections that countered the various attacks at times uncertain by the enemy who was advancing and retreating confusedly. To be honest, more than winning the game maybe the opposing general lost it. If you start an attack go all the way if you go back halfway you lost (I learned the hard way). Good luck General. Ad maiora.

Division E
rpadilla1988 (Byzantine 579-599) defeats angel4250 (Frankish 496-599) 60-41
A battle for the books, Byzantine started on a hill and held good control until the warband horde stepped the foot at the left flank. The flank was covered with expert arrow fire and punished the warband horde vanguard; footmen stood ready at the hill crest and met the disrupted Franks, dealing damage and taking hits but rookies held. A cavalry charge to nip the vanguard and free more men for the next coming horde broke the warband, but a funneled pursuit led the horsemen on a fateful charge, down the hill and into the waiting Franks!
Then dawned the horde, crashing into the left flank, both armies ruthless in their combat, but it would be the innumerable Franks who roared when the raw footmen were routed, an even score with 30-30.
And to the right, the Byzantine gained control with open ground and cavalry, settled good battle lines and heard the roar of thousands of men, chants of war, faces drawn with apprehension. Battered, bloody, running and limping, random arrows ripping through the air and into the Franks. The horde continued down hill toward the Byzantine elite reconsolidating for another battle.
GG angel4250!

Division B
devoncop (Parthian 250-225AD with Saka allies) beat IMC (Jewish Revolt) by 43 to 8%
A wide open desert battlefied with the exception of a couple of small enclosure complexes favoured the Parthians whose missiles wrought a terrible toll on the unarmoured Jewish host before Cataphracts were able to complete the job.
Thanks to Ian for the match which as always was conducted in a fine spirit. Honours even after he smashed me last season

Division D for Dutiful
Barrold713 (Anglo-Danish) defeats Swuul (British) 54-25
Hiding a significant force of medium foot in the woods off one flank, my righteous dudes were able to advance to a hill to await an assault while my sinister flank advanced to meet the British spears.
A couple units including my meagre cav earned significant posthumous glory as a distraction as the ambush on the right was waiting to be launched.
With my line engaged I came out of the woods and met enough success to shatter the troops on my right and take the battle.
Good game!
Cheers

Division A
Nijis (Granadines) defeats schmolywar (Almohads) 69-37
They two armies met on a narrow plain with a river on one side, and rocky heights on the other. It started well for the Granadines, as their light forces and camelry swept the enemy skirmishers off the heights. The Granadine crossbow troops began softening up the main Almohad line as the Granadine knights, riding side-by-side with their Christian allies on gorgeously caparisoned horses, lined up for a charge. At first the chivalry of Andalusia made good headway, and the Berber spearmen recoiled. But, fired with religious zeal, they recovered, and the pride of Granada was surrounded and cut down. Many an Andalusian faris would never return to the fountains and gardens of his mountain capital, skewered by a ascetic warrior-monk from the dry lands of the south. The Andalusian center gave way. But the Granadine camelry and foot pressed the second-line Almohad troops on the flank as their skirmishers kept up their barrage, and one by one the battered Almohad spear formations wavered and fled. The surviving Granadines could barely believe their victory.
