KarisFraMauro wrote: Sat Jul 24, 2021 5:57 am I recently played Market Garden 1 vs 1 for the first time, and have to say the Germans felt a bit overpowered. Does anyone else get this impression? To be fair I put most of my air force in the south, but even if I deployed them all in the north I don't think it would have helped much. I'm used to the 2 vs 2 version, so maybe that's colouring my perspective. Ended up with everything in the north wiped out completely long before the southern force got close, and even they ran into a wall of tanks, anti-air and infantry all heavily dug in on the other side of a river. So that was the end of that...
I'm minded to agree. I got to Son Bridge by turn 11 but ground to a halt. I was using same tactics as in the 2vs2, driving up the flanks and the centre. The British 1st Airborne last until around turn 20+ but to do that all aircraft supported them, meaning my US airborne took a kicking. I got to the outskirts of Njimegen but never made it to the bridge. I suspect I should have not gone so wide but they'd only pile up behind anyway.

It should be hard but I think if your para drops do not land in target on turn 1 and 2 then you don't stand a chance. Free deployment of XXX Corps might help as you could then set up a better opening barrage and have the right troops in place to advance.

Normally I complain about Germany being underpowered in certain maps, so I guess this was just balancing things out ;) Where do I find the Battle of the Bulge map for the game needing players though? I'm not seeing it in the original post. Thought maybe it was one of those automatically included with the latest mod but that doesn't seem to be the case either (although I might be missing something obvious, as usual).

Hello Erik,

Norway
Norway 1v1 scenario seems corrupted. The turn 4 is unplayable for Allied player because of strange big lags.

Syria
Same issue with 3v1 Syria, it gets corrupted in a turn 7. A Vichy France player can´t upload his turn.

Coral Sea 1942
There is an outdated version of Coral Sea scenario in the Scenario Box and this version is unwinnable for Allies. Should be replaced with the newest version.

Velikye Luky
More scenarios like this one, please.
Soviet infantry units named "Guards" could be changed to Guard inf unit + add Guard specialization + add some soviet land commanders (?).

Thanks for reporting.

These scenarios are pretty old and may have broken during on of the OOB v9 updates (or earlier...)
I asked the devs many moons ago to replace the ancient Coral Sea in the 'crate'...

Olympic 2.3 crash during deployment.

It has happened twice. Just freezes with the "little blue circle" and will return to desktop.
I have the logs if they are any use.

Never saw that with Olympic, and I've played this scenario several times.
If the logs are Unity errors they will probably mean nothing to me, but attached them here anyway and I'll take a look.

Updated scenarios in first post

Post by Erik2 »

1v1 Norway 1940 2.0
I had an up-published 2.0 laying around.
Fine-tuned the objectives, changed a few unit types with better ones and let it run in hot-seat for 6 turns. Seemed to work fine.
Added German and British commanders, wether they ever paid Norway a visit or not.

3v1 Syria 1941 1.4
Relocated a few turn-8 reinforcements that may have caused deployment hiccups.
Added German and British commanders.

1v1 Velikiye Luki 1942 2.7
Replaced substitute Soviet Guards units with proper ones.
Added more German and Soviet commanders.
Added a few Soviet specialisations.

2v1 Sicily 1943 3.4
Added more British and US commanders.

Olympic deploy crash 2.zip
As as I suspected, lots of very data-specific info not meant for feeble brains like mine :D
The error report goes through 557407  lines of mostly game-engine stuff that I believe have nothing to do with this particular scenario, like the (British) Home Guard specialisation not present. Of course not, the scenario takes place in Japan in 1945
Well, it was worth a try.

Do you think I could have set up a "gold star" scenario?
I'll diligently post another game in a hour or so.

Simultaneously saddened (because I like Olympic) and relieved (because I thought it was something at my end) to hear others have the same crash problem. Except that the side I played didn't have the objectives highlighted I thought the other versions were pretty good. Maybe Japan could have done with a bit of strengthening.

Maybe. The tell-tale is if all objective txt has vanished and been replaced with 'data-txt'.

Don't know if you saw the messages (I notice they aren't always displayed) but since there was a later version of the game we decided to quit and move on to that. Anyway after wrapping up Escaut I was a little surprised to get a major defeat despite fulfilling the objective of holding the southernmost town the entire game. In fact no german troops even got close.

The game simply ended? Do you remember which turn?
I play the NKs in a different game and we're on turn-18.
