Division D
Kroche (Beidi 1046-701BC) defeated Kerait (Chinese (Zhou) 1046-701 BC) 62-41
Beidi forces deployed a flanking force on the right while the centre and left attempted to hold the line. Went well for a while before the Zhou chariots, after their initial charge was blunted, started to cause panic among the Beidis. By the end of the fight the Beidi flankers had caused enough damage to win the match despite losing both their centre and left to the resolute Zhou. GG

Karvon - Dailami 928-1055 AD (1200) defeated joggy - Viking 900-1049 AD with French 888-1049 AD allies 43-13 for a 4-0 win.
A large woods completely filled the far left corner and a large steep hill covered most of the near left one. A necklace of scattered woods ran along the right and wrapped back around my end of the field. A narrow steep hill stretched across the back of the Vikings center edge. A gentle hill with some bits of rough ran from about the center to the right reaching the forests on my side of the field. A small steep hill sat in about the center of my deployment area.
I deployed a half a dozen lancers supported by a few heavy horse archers and an elephant in a line just beyond the small steep hill. My token 3 light foot and a pair of light lancers I hid in some woods on my far right. Another light lancer was flung out as a scout on my far left. I had a small block of 9 foot which started deployed behind my cavalry on the small steep hill. I expected the Vikings to deploy in a long line between the large forest on the far left and bits of the forest necklace on the far right, so my plan was to push my lights along the necklace as an advance guard with my horse initially screening the advancing foot as they scrambled for the cover of the necklace trees. Then, some of them might swing wider right and attempt a rather long flanking ride around the bits of forest on the right, while the others would cover the left flank of the foot in the woods.
The Vikings did indeed have a massive shieldwall of foot running between the woods backed by an assortment of cavalry a few light foot and some bow, so we started off with our planned flanking move. After a couple of moves of mostly holding their ground, the Vikings appeared to realize our plan and began to slowly wheel their line to their left to bring more of their forces to bear. Our horse archers and lights chased off most of the screening enemy lights and our foot made their way into the far end of the wood necklace which threaten the Viking left flank. Our lights pushed through the woods and shot up some of his cavalry attempting to cover their left. Some of our own lancers pushed through and around the woods and overran these weakened horse. A couple of lancers screened the left flank of our foot in the woods, while a few lancers, a couple of horse archers and the elephant backtracked a bit to the left in an attempt to work around the enemy right.
The Viking spears attempted to aggressively drive this back by charging and pinning my lancers. This resulted in a couple of shieldwall units disrupting or fragmenting, and then breaking a turn or two later, creating several gaps in the line and lancers in the rear, though the survivors ragged line was sufficient to block any exploitation by the rest of the horse or the elephant. However, my light lancers and the few lancers that had breached or flanked the main Viking line, were able to sweep away a couple of other fragmented units huddled in the rear shortly after and that finished off the Vikings.

devoncop is the man; unfortunate to face byzantine who when it comes to battle, the old empire does pretty well against lighter skirmish armies!

rexhurley (Spanish Sertorius) defeats Najanaja(Roman) 45/16
The swarm overcame the Roman turtle just as it looked like both rights would break his went first then surprisingly (or not) some weird rng rolls made units on the other side pop suddenly giving me a win 2 to 3 turns before I had hoped.
Thank you for the game Najanaja I thought you were going to reverse the positive start I had
